"Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" is one of the representative works of English rhyme knight style. It was created in the 14th century and reflects the ideal of chivalry. It is the essence of medieval feudal aristocratic culture and represents a romantic and legendary French school story. After re-creating based on this epic poem, the film presents us with a hazy artistic experience, as well as human nature and religious beliefs.
Whether it's Gawain's rotten way of life; or the unfamiliar affection expressed by King Arthur and Gawain's communication; and the characteristics of the times, lord knights are the glory and pursuit of nobles; witches' magic is spurned and feared by people; nobles' wars bring harm to the poor , the class opposition is not resistance but delusional joining; the friendship and companionship between animals and people under the incarnation of elves; the tenacity and restraint shown by the power of faith given by chivalry; cleverly showing LGBT emotions; Reverse and take off the belt and calmly accept the sublimation of the beheaded chivalrous spirit. The director of various clips is very good to show it with artistic lenses.
The lighting, shadow and music are basically in line with the tone of the film. The disadvantage is that it does not show the epic sense of the round table represented by King Arthur, and it is too marginal. Overall, it is relatively slow and has no epic sense, and the ups and downs are not violent.... Those who are interested in medieval chivalry can watch it, and those who want to find resonance, excitement and literary atmosphere are not recommended.
