NGE, most people like to call it EVA, which is Evangelion. It's one of my favorite animations, it can be said to have made me obsessed. From the likes to see later research. This animation is still at the highest level of animation in my heart. Evangelion's new theatrical preface, 26 episodes of TV, 2 theatrical versions, and comics have been read countless times, and all OST and symphony albums have been collected.
Before watching the new theatrical version, I thought it was another money-swindling scheme by old man Anno and G company. So I didn't watch it for a long time, mainly because I was afraid of disappointment. After all, this animation has the supreme status in my heart.
After reading it, I found that I was wrong. This one isn't just a simple reset. From plot to production. All worthwhile to study and appreciate. And I believe that this film will also let people who have not seen this animation understand the cause and effect.
I will comment on this film from the following points:
First, the plot
Although it is a theatrical version, to put it bluntly, it is actually a compressed TV version and put it on the screen, there is no doubt about it. The new theatrical version does not feel procrastinated, nor does it feel abruptly compressed. In short, it is very smooth and does not miss important plots.
Regarding the apostles, the fourth apostle didn't have any bright spots at the beginning, and the apostles were not reset, they were copied completely. The fifth apostle also has no bright spots, except that cockroach feet are added to the chest of the apostles, but these feet seem to be only used to scare people. The sixth apostle, this is the main content of the new theatrical version. The apostle has been reset, and the ability to deform has never appeared before. And the plot is also good. It may be the co-ordination of screen time, the plot of hitting this apostle has a better feel.
Regarding the omitted plot, the picture of the fourth apostle hitting the cannonball with his hand is gone, which is a pity. The freckles on the monitor's face were also reduced.
Regarding the increase, the most important thing is that the old man Anno finally let Lilu point. There is also an increase in how the adaptor puts on the battle suit, and a close-up of the hairpin.
Also, Shinji's answering phone messages is also good.
Second, make
Since it is a new theatrical version, the production technology is definitely a leap forward from 10 years ago. The picture becomes soft and clear, and the intervention of computer technology makes the 3D effect more dazzling. In particular, a lot of work must have been done on the production of the sixth apostle.
I am not very satisfied with the construction of the whole city, the city buildings are the same. If you imagine the city construction in the 2004 attack and innocence, you will know that G company did not make great efforts in the city construction in the new theatrical version.
The light and shadow effects of the characters are much better, at least there is no glitch.
Third, the soundtrack
EVA soundtrack is definitely one of his biggest highlights. The TV version of a total of 26 episodes used 13 versions of FLY ME TO THE MOON, as well as the enduring komm susser tod, as well as a large number of quotations, adaptations and The original symphony is the same feeling when I take it out and listen to it now.
The new theatrical version uses a lot of previous music, such as TOKYO-3 in the background when the third new Tokyo rises, and ANGEL ATTACK in the background of the battle, all of which are classics in the EVA soundtrack. The background music during the battle seems to be a newly added background music. It feels good too, but it doesn't resonate.
It is worth mentioning that the theme song BEAUTIFUL WORLD, I started listening to it a long time ago, the melody is definitely matched with EVA, but the lyrics are more popular, no way, who made Utada a pop singer :)
Well, the above is my opinion My humble opinion on this film, I hope everyone can express their opinions.
I can't wait to see the second one, this kind of annual episode like the battle fairy Xuefeng is really annoying.
