I finally watched the movie that I had been waiting for in the list for a long time. I knew that James Dean in the red jacket was the icon of that era. I imagined that this movie was a reflection of the society at that time. It turned out to be more about families. The question is still very relevant now, with no trace of the age at all, reminiscent of the confusion, resistance, loss, and search for the meaning of their own existence in "Catcher in the Rye" and "Breakfast club" (the observatory and the universe). The introduction of history is the obvious symbol).
The film uses very concise dialogue and camera language to write the family issues of Jim, Judy, and Plato to the point , Jim's hesitant expression is really a manifestation of his acting skills, and James Dean's performance in this film can really be loaded into the film and television. Judy's long-shot dictation at the police station makes people feel like a trouble; and Plato is the most hopeless one, his family barely exists, which is why Plato must be written to death at the end of the film.
The colors of the 50s movies are really comfortable, but the soundtrack overwhelms the movie and makes it a little uncomfortable for modern audiences.
