very lively, very coquettish

Some people say that you can't miss a good movie because of movie reviews. After watching "King of Kung Fu", it proves that sometimes, you will waste your time because of publicity.

All commercial films are well promoted, and this film is no exception. In line with Hollywood, the entire production team, except for the martial arts coach Yuan Heping, is Hollywood. So, thinking is also Hollywood. Even the music, from the beginning, was still antique, and later it was like the Irish bagpipes.

Wukong, drunken fairy, white-haired witch, and Shaolin monk, mixed together, very lively. The elements of Chinese Kung Fu in foreign impressions are gathered together.

The biggest champion is Jackie Chan and Jet Li. The two are young, and they play heartily. Unfortunately, this film has no connotation and no soul. It just borrows elements of Chinese kung fu to fabricate a plausible Chinese legend. Without its soil, it can't be called a classic.

I remember someone said that "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was filmed for foreigners, and so was "Kung Fu King". Similar in appearance, this is a typical Hollywood film, what can you ask for?

But it still gave me some inspiration. The story of Monkey King can be written in this way, and Kung Fu and mythology can be combined in this way. Although the combination of foreign directors is nondescript, sometimes outsiders are bold and make mistakes, but they will get a glimpse of the secret because of fate.

The Forbidden Kingdom quotes

  • Lu Yan: A musician can have Kung Fu, or the poet who paints pictures with words and makes emperors weep, this too is Kung Fu.

  • The Silent Monk: Learn the form, but seek the formless. Hear the soundless. Learn it all, then forget it all. Learn The Way, then find your own way.
