Dialogue and the World of Consciousness

Speaking of this film, I watched it about twice, and I was impressed by the large number of dialogues of the characters with super fast speech speed and
many dialogues with religious elements, which is difficult to understand. The difficulty in understanding the dialogue of the characters is the shortcoming of my understanding of this film.

In my opinion, rather than telling a story, director Mikeley is describing the protagonist's extremely rich world of consciousness. As the title of the film is, he shows the life state he describes as naked, and shows the consciousness of the protagonist through a lot of dialogues. I think this film is like the audience showing a person's consciousness and not the audience to understand his consciousness. There's some erotic footage in it, but it's not pretentious.
At the end of the film, the limping back shot of the leading actor is elongated, and it is difficult for people with rich consciousness to rest in peace.

  • Louise: So what happened, were you bored in Manchester?

Johnny: Was I bored? No, I wasn't fuckin' bored. I'm never bored. That's the trouble with everybody - you're all so bored. You've had nature explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the living body explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the universe explained to you and you're bored with it. So now you want cheap thrills and like plenty of them, and it don't matter how tawdry or vacuous they are as long as it's new, as long as it's new, as long as it flashes and fuckin' bleeps in forty fuckin' different colors. So whatever else you can say about me, I'm not fuckin' bored.

  • Louise: What are you doing here? You look like shit.

Johnny: I'm just tryin' to blend in with the surroundings.
