Why a thriller is a horror

Counting it down carefully, I seem to have watched some of the three major murderous movies in the United States. They are Michael, Jason and Freddy. I don't like watching thrillers very much, because my heart is not strong enough, and the atmosphere of the film is a little bit tense, so I dare not watch it. Moreover, I am a very timid person. Once I watch a horror movie, I will not dare to sleep in a room by myself for several days, so I always watch horror movies with my roommates at school.

I only watched the latest one in this series of Moonlight and Panic. After reading it, do you ask me horror? After thinking about it carefully, it is not too terrible, and the plot is also very straightforward, it is killing. There is not much brain draining, and when McCall escapes from the mental hospital, the killing begins. There is no need to guess too much, you can guess who will receive the lunch next according to the lens.

In fact, the real scary thing about this type of thriller is that he created a murderer with no reason and no logic. This murderer's killing has no sympathy for bloggers in the past, he does not need to be full and three-dimensional in the image, everything is out of instinct.

Sometimes we mistakenly think that we are afraid of horror movies because we have empathy with the protagonist or the victim. In fact, I think the deeper reason is that all these horror movies hurt the innocent. If a horror movie’s villain kills are all targeted, they don’t kill innocent people indiscriminately. Even if you meet an unarmed young couple with a big knife, they will ignore it. As long as you don’t take the initiative to invade him, he will never harm you. Will it still terrorize us? "Kill Bill" has a lot of dead people, the scene is very bloody, and the suspense is enough, but it is not a horror movie, we will only see the adrenal glands soaring, and will never be frightened.

Whether it is the three major murderers series, or other supernatural or perverted movies, ghosts or aliens, clowns or aliens, it is impossible not to kill a few innocent passers-by.

The kind of being killed for no reason is the root of the thriller of the thriller, and it is precisely because of this way of killing without picking the target and not asking for grievances, that makes us empathize. The audience knows that they are not the protagonist, the so-called substitution is just the role of the passer-by A and B. The death of these passers-by is the root cause of the fear.

Halloween quotes

  • Aaron Korey: We're here to investigate a patient that killed three innocent teenagers on Halloween, 1978. He was shot by his own psychiatrist and taken into custody that night, and has spent the last forty years in captivity.

  • Allyson: Everyone in my family, like, turns into a nutcase this time of year.

Vicky: If I were you guys, I wouldn't celebrate either. I would just put up a Christmas tree instead. Skip over all the creepy Halloween shit, right? Does your grandma ever talk about it?

Allyson: Yeah, it's pretty much all she talks about. It defines her life. She's been traumatized ever since.

Dave: Wasn't it her brother who, like, cold-blooded murdilated all those teenagers?

Allyson: No. That's just a bit that some people made up to make them feel better, I think.

Vicky: I mean, that is scary to have a bunch of your friends get butchered by some random crazy person.

Dave: Is it, though? Because, all things considered, there's a lot worse stuff that's happening today. And like, I mean, what, a couple people getting killed by one guy with a knife is not that big of a deal.

Vicky: Dude, her grandmother was almost fucking murdered.

Dave: And she escaped, and they caught him, and now he's incarcerated. I-I'm just saying, like, by today's standards...

Vicky: Just shut the fuck up, Dave. Shut up.
