Just like Ellie has always believed in Satoru, as she said, she believes in herself in essence. Emphasis on believing is actually wanting to believe, and some words will become reality when they are said.
Satoru unconditionally helps Kayo and resolves the tragedy. Xian also believes in Wu, and has never given up to seek the truth for fifteen years. Guangmei became a vegetative person because of enlightenment and chose to practice medicine. Also, Satoru's mother, like a youkai, guards him around the clock when he wakes up.
One week after reading the file, Satoru finally failed to fight alone. In the second week, together with his childhood friend, his mother, he successfully rescued Jiadai and replaced him with his own 15-year gap. He saved everyone but ignored himself.
Fifteen years later, on the rooftop, Wu Yi drove to the gap in a wheelchair without hesitation. Beneath that are his trusted companions, guarding him like a cobweb. When I came back to my senses, the spider silk on the head of the real murderer was no longer there, and the op in ep12 implied that he was subduing.
This is a story of faith and courage.
There was a period of time during college that I was keen on comics, especially the suspense and horror department. After watching the author's "Island of Ghosts", I chased the serialized streets in the post bar, and went to the male protagonist to get in the car. The truth was revealed, and I didn't pay attention to it for fifteen years, including later live-action movies and TV animations. The ed and bgm written by Yuki Kajiura are known, and they are still on my playlist today.
I especially like the opening of the lyrics in ed
Servant だ け が て た Jun の こ と past も future も か な し み も よ こ び も 全て From the perspective of the male protagonist, everything he has was seen by his friends. Ellie believes that he did not commit the crime, Kadai is willing to be kidnapped by him, Hyun also cooperates with his detective game, and her mother understands his every move. The op lyrics are also written for the male lead, fifteen years of waiting, re:re, there are a lot of details in the film. In ep10op, the male protagonist disappeared, and a week later, the person who came to look for the watch is surnamed Xiyuan.
Some people interpret Satoru and Kayo's relationship in an alternative way at the end of the manga. The living people have to move on, and the two people who had disappeared are finally together. From the perspective of the male protagonist, Kadai can bravely pursue his own happiness, which is the perfect ending of the story.
The manga version of Kadai got married after taking care of the male protagonist for several years, which was also based on the interference of the male protagonist's mother. The original Satoru regained his memory because of Ellie, and Ellie was the source who made the male protagonist muster the courage to explore the truth.
If it weren't for superpowers, I'm afraid the real murderer would be hard to catch, and the emotional line is just embellishment. The author wants to convey that we are living in the moment and cherishing the present.
