On Children's Day, an Italian fairy tale "Pinocchio" was released, which is also a story that almost everyone is familiar with.
This is a live-action feature film, and the overall tone is dark. Overall, I personally feel that it is not suitable for children under the age of 10 to watch.
Many people bring up the impression of Pinocchio, and their nose grows because of lying. Even though I read the whole story as a kid, that's the only impression I have of Pinocchio. But after watching the movie, I realized that lying and getting a long nose is just a small fragment of Pinocchio's story, not its full meaning and core.
The story of "Pinocchio" is actually a story about how to become a real person. It's a growth story. What is growth? Growing up is like a monk in the Tang Dynasty, he has to go through ninety-nine-eighty-one difficulties. Putting Pinocchio here, is to experience all kinds of human hardships - encounter bad people, but also meet good people. Do bad things yourself, do good things yourself. It is only through these experiences—good and bad—that you can truly become a person.
For Pinocchio, it was the carpenter who gave birth to me, and the fairy who raised me. The fairy saved Pinocchio again and again, just as Guanyin saved the Tang monk again and again. Of course, Pinocchio is different from Tang Seng. Tang Seng has a persevering heart to learn from scriptures and a belief that is not moved by desires. Pinocchio is ignorant, mischievous, lustful, a kid who keeps making mistakes.
The whole film, in addition to telling the story of Pinocchio, actually seems to be satirizing the world at that time, especially the judge's scene, saying that "innocents go to prison", and Pinocchio lied and said that he stole it. It took a lot of things before they were released, and there was a feeling of "those who steal the hook will be punished, and those who steal the country will be martyred".
Overall, this somewhat weird "Pinocchio" personally thinks it's okay, and I give it 8 points.
Also, listening to the original sound, Pinocchio's pronunciation seems to be closer to Pinocchio.
