live on breath

I just finished watching a movie about a severely paralyzed patient and accidentally opened another. The reasons are different, that one was caused by a car accident, and this one was caused by a virus infection, and the paralysis is more thorough, completely paralyzed from the neck down, and lives completely on a ventilator.

But he survived, and lived for more than ten years.

The young tea agent Robin, handsome and adventurous, met the beautiful Diana at a cricket game. The two were attracted to each other, soon got married and rushed to Africa and Kenya to do business in search of tea.

Just as Diana was about to give birth, Robin suddenly contracted the polio virus and was paralyzed, unable to breathe, let alone use language.

Diana was decisive and able to return to England with her husband and children.

Robin just wants to die. Diana fought back her grief, scolded him, and begged him to live for her and for the children. When Robin asked to go home, he didn't really care about life or death. Doctors determined he would not live for two weeks.

Diana quickly finds a house to settle down and takes Robin home. Wife, children, dog, house, everything at home gives Robin the joy of being alive. He is also thinking about improving his quality of life a little bit.

With the help of Diana and her family and friends, Robin went from getting out of bed in a simple wheelchair, traveling by car, leaving the country by plane, to lobbying the wealthy to donate to make ventilators, and giving a speech calling for attention to the quality of life of the disabled. The process was difficult and dangerous. Accompanied by the fatal danger caused by the ventilator failure, but he walked step by step. Through the growth of children, through another life.

When the ventilator caused a lung infection that was irreversible, Robin began to consider giving up his life, and calmly persuaded Diana to give up.

Finally, with the help of a doctor friend, he was illegally euthanized.

In "Before I Met You", Will's life has no ties, his parents are healthy, busy and wealthy, his girlfriend is empathetic (even his friend), and he has become an unnecessary person. The intimacy of Clark's psychic emotions was not enough to keep Will in check with a sense of responsibility. And if it was just for himself, he chose to leave.

Robin's life is entangled by his wife and children, and he cannot refuse his wife's rebuke. The atmosphere of home gradually stimulated his desire to survive, and he went on like this step by step until he reached the limit.

After reading it, I admire Diana's ability, perseverance and firm belief, as well as their good luck.

Slightly disappointed, the overall is still too conventional,
