This movie really makes me laugh and cry the more I see it.
In the first half of the movie, she was abandoned because of her social status, and the heroine Katerina continued to improve herself. She raised the child by herself and became the director of the factory. And it is in stark contrast to his early marriage and his desire to find a rich and prestigious girlfriend. Especially the disparity in life after 16 years. Seeing this, I thought it was a story about a woman who did not rely on men and became independent and self-improvement.
Good guy, as a result, a second man appeared. This man was very paranoid at the beginning of his appearance, and it was okay to force his way into other people's houses. And the third time they met, they said the straight male cancer words like "men should have a higher status at home than women; women's wages must also be lower than themselves". Generally, women with self-respect are probably already frowning when they hear such words, and several red flags in their hearts have already stood up. Unexpectedly, Katerina, instead of thinking that there was something wrong with this man, deliberately concealed her salary in order to prevent him from leaving her. I can't help but see a black question mark on my face.
Then Rudolph actually broke into the house without the permission of the owner. Katerina, far from finding this behavior very offensive, asked her to sit down and prepare a plate for him?
Two other details that I want to complain about: Rudolph and the married man in the middle are having sex with Katerina in an almost violent attitude. Very rude, and did not ask for the consent of women, especially Rudolph. For the first time, Katerina insisted on kissing him even when Katerina kept resisting.
So this movie seems to talk about the female protagonist being self-reliant, but almost every minute reveals the disrespect of men to women and the fact that the female protagonist condones these behaviors and silently pays for their behavior, and even lowers her worth just to pay someone more than her own salary. A situation where low machismo men stay around. Self-worth is really not that high.
Ugh.
