I saw that there are many film critics who think that this documentary is not true and does not respect the deceased and is not pure enough.
To these questions, I would like to say:
Thinking independently, critically looking at things, discerning right from wrong, and questioning authority are necessary things. Doubting its authenticity is all basic exercises, basic exercises~
Whether the deceased is willing to show himself and his works is a question that only the deceased can answer accurately. After all, all the critics' guesses are based on documentaries whose authenticity needs to be considered, right? In any case, the works that Vivian never showed during her lifetime were shown after her death, and her personal information was dug up by the tireless producers. We can be bystanders, supporters, and Blame it, these are our choices based on subjective guesswork about Vivienne's wishes.
When it comes to the discussion on the purity of this documentary, I personally think that it is really unnecessary, not necessary~ No matter whether the documentary is pure or not, whether Vivian is pure or not, as long as these works of art are pure, come and watch this documentary. Is it okay for us to be pure in a documentary? Personally, I don't want to think about the utilitarian nature of this documentary or anything else, I just want to "get to know" the "Vivian" it presents through this documentary, appreciate her work and feel shocked by it. My personal "journey to find" art. I have to say, in addition to the works that shocked me, the "Vivian" presented in the documentary really attracted me, and a full character image was constructed in my mind. She integrates into life and breaks away from life. She records life and never shows it. As a street photographer, she is like a bystander, covertly and objectively, taking the next pictures, mixed with her psychological and emotional ,Photo. She aroused my curiosity and made me have infinite reverie about her. In the end, I can only come to a useless conclusion, that is, she is a person with a story.
PS: This is the first time I write a film review and publish it publicly. Writing a film review is a good habit. I want to cultivate and stick to this habit. It allows me to think more deeply and read other people’s reviews. Film criticism has also broadened my horizons and benefited a lot. Come on, come on, come on (to cheer yourself up hahahaha)
