"The Reality of Fairy Tale" Remember to Watch "Wolf Walker"

In the background of the fairy tale, the history of England's aggression and Ireland's struggle is actually nested. Seeing that the comment area said that goodfellow (probably such a movement) has a strong daddy flavor, it is indeed hahaha! But that may be a kind of manipulation of England's image. For your own good is the word that the father said the most. The little girl from England has also experienced from saying for your own good to the wolf girl to face the contradiction. The change, the loose hair, is a symbol of her change.

The image of wolfwalker is also related to Irish folk culture. Ireland is a green kingdom. They respect and revere nature. There are many folk legends with images similar to "wolfwalker". The owner of the sheep tied to the post and the shackles, and the peasants who farmed outside the city, represented the original Irish inhabitants who believed in the existence of the Wolf Walker, the creed of the harmonious coexistence of nature and man, and the Wolf Walker's belief in the For them, it is the god-like existence in the eyes of Catholics; and the inhabitants of the city are alienated Irish people who fear not only the power of nature, but also the aggression from other civilizations, or those who simply make a living. The English (including some of the soldiers), they did not want to invade, but had no choice, they were the middleman, hovering between the two faiths; finally the guards headed by the lord protector, they were outright invaders, sticking to their own Faith, the faith that firmly invades this land and grows on it, will remain unchanged until death.

The most interesting part of this film is not these settings, but the way of becoming a wolf runner, that is, being bitten by a wolf runner. Three people in the film were bitten by the Wolf Walker, Robin, Goodfellow, and lord protector, and the way they dealt with and received the bite reflects what they have listed above. The difference between the three types of people created by the film is that Robin, the protagonist, is more special. As a child, as a being closer to nature, she has completed the transformation from a natural hunter to a protector of wolves. The transformation of an outsider carrying the shadow of different religions to the native natural force.

At the end of the film, the wolves still moved, they went to their new homeland, and they did not successfully stay in the original forest because of the death of the big devil, because the trend of industrialization was irresistible, the exchange of civilizations (or friendship) or hostile) is inevitable, and this is where the film is at its most realistic.

In general, as a fairy tale movie, it is quite qualified. The film's soundtrack and style of painting are also very Irish. The Irish bagpipes in the soundtrack and the floral graffiti on the letters in the opening and closing credits add a lot to the film.

This is a real fairy tale, or in other words, it has achieved the truth in fairy tales.

How can I have the heart to give such a beautiful animation a low score? The description of the daddy is awkward and inexplicable. If you don’t know how to write a film review, don’t put in some embarrassing words? Like poking the glass heartbeat?

#LFF2020# Very happy to watch. An animation that blends a story similar to Irish folklore into a modern context. The themes that the film wants to discuss are very diverse. The first is the naturalistic discussion in this very "Avatar" story (not just environmental protection, because there are a lot of forest dramas and the various emotions of the characters). Another theme-the critique of patriarchy is parsed into different aspects: the power of England ruling Ireland; the oppression of women by society; and the transformation of human/wolf identity (worth more discussion). The interaction between the two little girls in the forest in the movie is reminiscent of Hayao Miyazaki, and the painting style of wolves/gods is reminiscent of "Nine-Colored Deer" and "Baolian Lantern", but in fact the style of painting is still very western ( The light and shadow on the wall are a bit expressionistic), and the split-screen design is also very similar to the restoration of a written comic (I like the setting of the map and the close-up of the illustration setting, which has a pop-up book and fake 3D feel) . The ending is very complete and strong, but it is okay to think that it is for children.
