"Fast Pig Kill"

In this world, there is a purely technical narrator who has no story at all, but when he tells it, it is a legend!

As the title, give the students of the screenwriting class an assignment: How to tell a legendary chef from a pig?

This movie is equivalent to a standard or even benchmark answer given by an outstanding screenwriter.

Pig, is a special pig, called "truffle pig", and its appearance is also quite special. Although the pouted mouth is not very beautiful, the fur is beautiful ochre. The reason why it is called truffle pig is because it can find precious truffles in the big forest with its keen sense of smell. So, in the beginning, pigs are not ordinary pigs.

The protagonist seems to be a "truffle hunter" who relies on pigs to find truffles, sell them for a good price, and then live a life in the mountains, which is no different from those who rely on ospreys to catch fish and hounds to catch rabbits. Since we are relying on pigs to make money, it is not surprising that we make good food for pigs. One day someone came to steal the pig, and the protagonist desperately wanted to get it back, which is also a matter of course!

The problem is that in the process of looking for the pig, we found that the protagonist is extraordinary! He's a legend - the chef of a famous restaurant in the city! As long as you sign up, everyone will know him, even though his time has become history. Just like we say Einstein or Edison, not about "love", but also eternal.

So how to shape his legend? Does it have to start when he leaves his lodge and goes back to the city? Why leave? It had to start with the pig he threw away. So, the homework is half done.

How to create a legendary chef?

On the one hand, there is the legend of the chef: firstly, he cooks for pigs very seriously and pays attention; secondly, those who have cooked for people before and who have eaten the meals he cooks will happily keep talking about the meals after leaving the restaurant , even the husband and wife who had been unable to reconcile; again, he still has the property, his own bakery, and his own good wine that has been stored for many years; finally, he remembers any dishes he has cooked, and the guests he has served, so much that he thinks To persuade the other party, you don't need to rely on force, but by redoing the exact same dish to make the other party submit.

On the other hand is the legendary chef: in order to retrieve the pig, he must first find the bad guy who stole the pig, so how do the bad guys find it? You have to go to the dark world underground, where there is a simple rule: write your name on the wall, then accept a beating from someone who is going to pay to beat people for fun, beat them for enough hours, and then stand up and be able to ask. A question from the backstage boss. Obviously, he is legendary, because he knows the secrets of the dark corners of the city. And these are things that his son-in-law buyer who drives a luxury car doesn't understand!

After finding the clues, when he arrived at the restaurant where he was a chef back then, he had to ask the current chef, his fan. His way of questioning the current chef is very simple: scold! "You don't have to be self-righteous, you are nothing. No one in the whole city remembers your name, and no one remembers your cooking. Your ideals, your life is not a table, go and open your tavern..." Then, The current chef was forced to confess that the one who stole the pig was the father of the son who bought his truffles in the car for him. So why did the big boss behind him steal pigs? Because he wanted his son to inherit his business and not do a small business, he wanted to steal the protagonist's pig and cut off the truffle business. Obviously, the story is so small that there is no story at all.

But in the end the problem was not solved? Why would such a rich and capital chef leave the city and go into seclusion? Also, he doesn't actually need Truffle Pig to find truffles (just find the tree). What was the old cassette tape he listened to at the end?

The story is not told. Although it is not complicated, it must be for love. Because he lost the person he nostalgic, he chose to leave. After leaving, he regarded the pig as his nostalgia again. Therefore, because of the pig, he is legendary.

So a pig, tells a legendary cook, and then tells an old-fashioned emotional story - love and loss, loss and search, and ultimately helplessness and loneliness.

The most interesting thing is that the protagonist is starring Nicholas Kevich. Some faces disappear after adolescence, some still struggle but still gradually withdraw helplessly (like Bruce Willis, who can play very well, to not play very well, to no play, to no play, to recently In the new film, I just came out to make soy sauce), but Nicholas suddenly had a transformation. When he stood up from the underground world, we would all think that the old man was going to fight a Jedi, but he still relied on his own ability and wisdom. A legendary and sad story.

Students, screenwriting is not easy, but maybe not too hard either! 7/22/2021

Pig quotes

  • Charlotte (formerly Restaurant Waitress): [Waitress giving rote announcement that accompanies the deconstructed scallops she has just delivered in a smoke filled globe to Rob and Amir's table] We all have a set of beliefs about the world around us. To challenge them is to acknowledge our foundation is sand, but it opens us up to something greater, to pure connection, to true life. Today's journey begins by uniting the depths of the sea with the riches of our forests. We've emulsified locally sourced scallops encased in a flash-frozen seawater roe blend, on a bed of foraged huckleberry foam, all bathed in the smoke from Douglass fir cones.

Rob: I'd like to speak to the chef.

  • Rob: You should use stale bread for french toast.
