14 years ago, "Borat" invented a formula: grafting the lowest and lowest farce form of farce to serious issues of American politics and society, thus creating a dumbfounding effect. : You say it’s a brainless farce, and it mirrors every minute; you say it’s serious, but you really can’t stand the various evils in it. Now the sequel of "Borat" is coming, and the power is not so strong, but this unique formula has not changed, and it has a deeper cut into reality and politics, that is, a stronger visual sense.
In fact, Porat and his daughter, two absurd fictional characters, were forcibly inserted into the real life of Americans --- from the shop assistants to Pence and Giuliani, almost all real characters acted as actors ( In many scenes, these people did not know about the filming), the Republican convention where Pence spoke and the interview with Giuliani were all non-performance real-life facts. Such an absurd farce seems to be integrated with the documentary. What is good about the sequel is the mapping and satire of various American phenomena: Trump and his camp and base, anti-Semitism, anti-abortion, freedom of guns, new crown conspiracy theory, anti-new crown isolation, and so on. Although these are all based on Hollywood's dominant leftist values of liberalism, the film does have a lot of knives against the anti-intellectualism that prevailed in the United States for a while, which is quite enjoyable.
The sequel is not so recognizable, because it has a strong feminist core and a father-daughter relationship that must be chaotic in the absurdity. Outside of the criticism of reality, the sequel story becomes "the outsider of American culture discovers the greatness of American values." You can already smell the cultural superiority of Great Americanism.
These dramas are far-fetched because it must be assumed that Porat and his daughter come from an extremely primitive and backward maternal culture, a patriarchal society that treats women as slaves inferior to pigs and dogs. Unfortunately, Kazakhstan has once again become a symbol of such "inferior culture". The creator's fake name is ridiculous and unscrupulously ridiculed Kazakhstan, making you angry when you look at it: Who is Kazakhstan to provoke? !
Although the film does not have a subjective motive to discredit Kazakhstan (for creators, it’s okay to switch to Uzbekistan or Burma and Laos, as long as it is an inferior country considered by the Americans), but in terms of the effect of film dissemination, Kazakhstan Slovakia’s international image may drop for no reason, especially for ordinary American audiences, because they basically have no understanding or interest in understanding countries other than the United States.
Therefore, the long film title of "Borat 2" should be changed to: "Borat 2: Criticism of the American Right and the Praise of American Values at the Cost of Kazakhstan".
