See how the Americans filmed their own civil war. That's right, the viewpoint is very mainstream, after all, the winner is the winner and the loser; it is very easy to draw materials, and fight for freedom. But it didn't talk about how the leader strategized, how vicious he didn't see his opponents, how magnificent he didn't shoot the war, but the morale of our army was high and low, internal intrigue, the officers acted evil, and finally even defeated the battle. However, this does not affect your liking for this film, admiration for the childish but firm and brave white colonel, and moved by the group of black soldiers who yearn for freedom and dignity. Heroes are not judged by success or failure, they are worthy of "honor."
Of course, the film has obvious traces of artistic processing, the lines are strong in preaching, the structure is loose, and the relationship between the people and the colonel is jumping, which are all shortcomings.
This film can be regarded as a famous work by director Edward Zwick and actor Denzel Washington. The latter won the Oscar and Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor in one fell swoop.
