The movie "Downton Abbey" is a spinoff of the famous British drama of the same name. It tells a series of events that happened to the aristocratic Grantham family in their home, Downton Abbey, in the last century. The film takes Downton Abbey’s visit to Yorkshire as the main line. Through three events: military parade, luncheon and dinner, it reflects the core of the whole film, that is, the warmth of human nature, the love of the world and the discovery of the true self . The Grantham family in the film was the representative of the entire British aristocracy at that time. Their family had been brilliant for hundreds of years. The blood of the ancient aristocrats from the royal family to the Churchill family flowed in their blood. They had various British characteristics: cold and reserved, Focus on superficial form, difficult to accept change. But the background at that time was the turbulent early 20th century. After the First World War, the flow between various classes accelerated. Some aristocrats were hit by the war and went bankrupt, while some middle classes made their fortunes and squeezed into the upper class. The emergence of new technologies has continuously impacted people's original lives; the calls for democracy and equality have become stronger, and the world proletarian movement has also emerged one after another; the international status of old empires such as the United Kingdom has declined, and the United States has grown rapidly as an emerging country. When the whole world is developing in the direction of modernization, is the aristocracy and even the monarchy still justified?
