A Psychological Analysis of "Marnie in Memory"

This is the best movie I've ever watched by Hayao Miyazaki. Although it's not as famous as "Spirited Away", "Howl's Moving Castle", and "City in the Sky", it's about the original family and the inner child. These questions are worth pondering. The heroine, Xing Nai, lost her parents in a car accident when she was very young, and then her grandmother passed away one after another. She knew that her relatives did not leave on purpose, but she still resented that she stayed behind. She has a deep sense of abandonment deep in her heart. She had not been able to grow up in her native family and was adopted by her adoptive parents. Until one day, she found in the drawer of her adoptive parents the pensions issued by the government every day. A sense of security arouses the inner child who is sensitive and inferior. She thought it was because of these that her adoptive parents adopted her. When she told Marnie about these things, Marnie was optimistic and told her that it was a happy thing to be adopted. Her heart was very sensitive and Marnie told her at this time, Let her cry, Mani said that she loves her very much. These two short sentences are to tell her not to suppress her emotions, and Mani will accompany her. Because she is a very depressed person, she is reluctant to communicate with others, and she will subconsciously destroy her concern for her people. She feels that she hates her own low sense of worth. Because she lost her relatives since she was a child, she is very repulsive to the existence of the original family. Rejecting their own existence, very insecure and sensitive. When she cried out, it was a big confrontation for her. She regarded Marnie as her best friend, and even learned that Marnie's family seldom got the love of her parents. Her parents didn't often bully Marnie. Ni, there was some physical and mental abuse, even being locked up in a barn. Annie mustered up the courage to help Marnie face her past fears together, which is also her decision to face her own life. On the way she met a friend Marnie who had disappeared and waited until Marnie was on top of the barn and went up. It was a gloomy day and it started to rain. Anna took Marnie down, and Marnie was afraid that she would not be able to go down. Anna encouraged her and said she was brave. In the end, they stayed in the barn against the wall and snuggled together. Later, she saw Marnie. Ni's childhood sweetheart came and they left together, and Marnie disappeared. When she woke up, her inner abandonment came out, she hated Marnie for leaving herself like her relatives had left her, ran outside the barn and fell down in the rain all the time, and then her Friends came and sent her back to the relatives of her foster mother in the countryside, who never forgave Mani for her high fever. Later she dreamed of Marnie, Marnie said that she was leaving, she didn't leave her there on purpose, hope she could forgive herself, when Anna cried and said to forgive Marnie, it was a real reconciliation, she was not just forgiving Marnie's departure is also her understanding of being abandoned by her relatives in her heart. When she woke up, she found the Jiuzi who often painted in the villa and learned about Marnie's life. She also learned from her adoptive mother, Laizi, that Marnie was her grandparents. The position of her parents was put back, and she also returned to her original family. She felt a sense of belonging. She no longer rejected these relatives and understood her grandmother's love for her. When she reconciled with her original family, her adoptive mother Lai Zi came to pick her up. When I told the pension, Lai Zi would adopt and love her regardless of whether there was a pension. At this time, Xing Na felt the love that had not flowed before. She thanked those who met, and said sorry to Xingzi. She used to rudely said Xingzi was a fat pig, and also called Laizi mother. This movie is the history of Anna's spiritual growth. When she reconciles with her original family and realizes that she is loved, the sensitive and vulnerable little girl in her heart is nourished by love, she can feel love. I have heard the saying "Everyone is not short of love, we are love itself, it is because of what we have encountered that has caused a stuck point, and when we are stuck, we can't feel love." One last detail, her grandmother did not live well when she was a child, she left home early and got married. When she got married a few years later, her childhood sweetheart husband died, and her grandmother was sick and could not take care of her daughter. She was sent to school and left home early to get married. Later, her parents had a car accident, and then her grandmother stayed to take care of her. Her grandmother died the next year because of her daughter's death, and she was adopted. This is the unfortunate life that has been repeated for three generations. When her grandmother left the family to escape from the lack of love, the cogwheels of the family's destiny began to turn. Her grandmother's resistance was the beginning of everything. Anna's asthma in the countryside... This is my opinion on the arrangement and combination of the original family, the inner child, and the family system in the psychological personal growth, and it only represents my personal opinion.
