There's a crack in the door to the truth

Today's Hollywood produces a lot of politically correct movies, boring enough to make people miss old movies with sharp opinions, great momentum, and a lot of information. There was a time, but only a few decades ago, when the politics, economy, and culture of the whole world were so exciting, full of exploration and tossing, and it was nothing like the stagnant, conservative and cautious world of today. Today's people seem to no longer have the patience to explore the beauty of diversity. Most people just want to ride the east wind of the times and choose the shortest, safest, and time-tested path to achieve success. Those innovators who are radical and excite the public, except for a few lucky people, most of them will be recognized as paranoid by the public because they are too obsessed with a certain thing or a certain belief. A "wise man" who spends his energy on the right path. Look at how boring the film and fashion circles are today. This is the result of fewer and fewer people who truly have the spirit of change. Once upon a time, we would have been thrilled by directors like Oliver Stone or Sydney Lumet, and marveled at the elusive taste of fashion’s talented designers. We know that their beginnings may not be perfect and their completion is not high, and their explorations may be superficial, but at least they have the courage to break through, which is already very valuable. As the country at the center of the world stage, it has unparalleled resources that attract the best minds in the world. These minds are the most excited because of this environment of rapid change and frequent cultural conflicts. The origin of the story material of the human heart also has the advantages and convenience of contributing good stories and pioneering viewpoints, and even has the responsibility to contribute responsible narratives and inspiring viewpoints, which is also a mutual gift between the environment and individuals in the golden age. Is the progress of this world driven by people with biased views? I think yes to a certain extent. But to protect the heritage of human civilization, it is not these kinds of people that are needed. The longer our civilization, the more we gain, the less we can stand the toss and the more conservative we will become. Today, while we shout that "history is only a prologue", we may not be clear: some of the past glories cannot be reproduced even if we turn back the clock today. The splendid heritage of human civilization, once it shines, cannot be copied.

2014/5/30: The courtroom conclusion is tearful, almost like a ray of light, piercing the haze over the city near the 535 incident; 2021/2/27: The conspiracy/investigation narrative offers its spontaneous politics. The direct political positivation of good detectives and the plea to replace the rotten machine with a healthy state is given to the mass police, and to a rigged and carefully directed mass. The production of fiction is an immediate (doxa) political consensus (doxa), and the crime story seems to be a pure fiction of a claim to power.

JFK quotes

  • Jim Garrison: Back, and to the left... back, and to the left... back, and to the left.

  • White House Man: We have to control the intelligence from Saigon.

Lyndon B. Johnson: Well don't let McNamara start sticking his damn nose in this thing! Every time he goes over to Saigon on some fuckin' fact-finding mission, he comes back and just scares the shit out of the President! Now I want Max Taylor on him night and day, like a fly on shit. Now you control McNamara, and you control Kennedy.
