Don Siegel directed a sci-fi horror film called "Human Alien" (also known as "The Flower of Heaven" ) in 1956, which was regarded as a classic by many fans. The original 1956 version was based on Jack Finney's 1954 novel Human Alien .
The story tells that a small town on the outskirts of Los Angeles was invaded by aliens, and the locals were replaced one by one with their brains, turning them into no emotion, no consciousness, only rational walking dead. The protagonist is a doctor. He came back from a medical conference in a foreign place. Although his hometown and town looked like the past, he vaguely felt that there was a hidden crisis under this calm surface. The 1956 version directed by Don Siegel ( "Dirty Harry" ) starred Kevin McCarthy , Dana Winter others. In 1994, the film was selected as the "Important Cultural, Historical and Artistic Heritage" of the National Film Board by the National Library Board of the United States.
The film was remade in 1978, 1993 and 2007, but was widely considered to be inferior to the 1956 version. The 1978 version was directed by Philip Kaufman ( "Prague Love" ) and starred Donald Sutherland ( "Ordinary People" ), and the 1993 version was titled "Alien Invasion" and was directed by Abel Ferrara ( " Ordinary People"). Bad Lieutenant ), starring Gabriel Anwar ( Scent of a Woman), was most recently remade in 2007, titled Deadly Visit , starring Oliver Hissberg ( Diana ) and James McTeague ( "The Raven" ), starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig .
