After Florence lost her husband, she came to the seaside town of Harburg and did everything she could to open a bookstore. Perhaps for her, that was a way of connecting with her husband. Because of the existence of the bookstore, the town has changed, and because of the existence of the bookstore, she met Edmure, a fellow man, and at the same time, she was attacked by those with ulterior motives.

Edmure passed away while helping her fight for her rights... The bookstore was taken away by those who seemed polite... The gentlemen, ladies, bankers, lawyers, and ordinary people in the small town were all looking at her with concern Leave. She lost! Packed up, she is leaving here, without sadness and anger.

The little girl who worked in the bookstore and didn't like to read took down the books left on the shelf and set the bookstore on fire. Later, the little girl took the seeds of "courage and love for books" she left behind and owned her own bookstore. . "Lolita" that can't be sold, "Scent of Dandelion" that can't be read, "Fahrenheit 451" that can't be read enough... With a bookstore, people will never feel lonely...

"She achieved her dream and was taken away again, but there was one quality in her that they could never take away: courage."

Like "Island Bookstore", it's hard to think rationally about such a subject. understanding makes the mind lazy/no one ever feels alone in a bookshop.

"Lolita" that can't be sold, "Dandelion Summer" that can't be read, "Mars Chronicle", the three Brontë sisters who were complained... "I just want to open a bookstore". A book and book lover's friendship strung this sad and depressed past but saw hope in the thorns. I didn't know the original work beforehand, but I thought it was an ebullient comedy when I saw the background of the cast; I thought that Julie Christie, who was narrating, actually played the old version of "Fahrenheit 451", time travel.

The Bookshop quotes

  • Florence Green: You mustn't think I don't want to consider you for the job, its just that you don't really look old enough - or strong enough.

Christine: That happens after first glance. You look old; but, you don't look strong. Its all the same anyway. We're all available.

  • Edmund Brundish: That harpy. What she wants is an: arts center. Now, I ask you, what the hell does this damn village need with an arts center? And how could art have a center? But, she's got it into her head that it does.
