Three dark fairy tales about desire and price

The film takes three parallel narratives and tells us three dark fairy tales. Each story is full of magic: eating a sea monster heart that can get pregnant, a flea the size of a lamb, a witch who can make you young. But the whole is too lengthy, and some of the plots are too heavy and uncomfortable. But the film's shooting of buildings and natural scenery is full of beauty, especially the queen's palace built of marble carved with various patterns, which is simply breathtaking.

The film tells us a simple truth through three stories: Equivalent exchange maintains the balance of all things, and if a strong desire is to be satisfied, a heavy price must be paid. The queen of the first story wants to have children, which is the desire to have children, which makes her lose her husband. Later, she wanted to keep her son by her side, which was her controlling desire for her son, which eventually cost her her own life. In the second story, the sister in order to get the king's jewelry to adorn herself, this is the desire for beauty and vanity, which makes her thrown off the cliff by the king. And the older sister wanted to be young because of the extreme younger sister, which is the desire for youth and beauty, and finally got her skinned. The princess in the third tale is bent on a perfect husband, which is the desire for love, and she ends up marrying a savage.

I think the most sympathetic person is the princess in the third story, because love should be the purest and most beautiful of these desires, and it is not her own choice in the end. In fact, his father loved a flea even more than his daughter. In order to maintain his perfect king's dignity, he let his daughter marry a savage, but received only a small punishment.

At the end, the princess of the third story became the queen, and the other two countries came to congratulate. The three stories were intertwined, as if it was a happy ending. But in fact, the endings of the three stories are not perfect. The queen of the first story died, the sister of the second story began to age, and the princess of the third story did not get the love she wanted in the end. This is how a true dark fairy tale should end.
