——“How long does it take you to go back and forth like this blizzard”
- "It's not a question of 'how long', it's a question of 'can'"
There was an outbreak of diphtheria in the town, and the serum used to treat it was in a city 900 kilometers away. In extreme weather, planes and cars were blocked, and the town's hope fell on the sled team Asai. Asai's wife tries to stop her husband, Asai, from taking the risk, because the blizzard is about to mean that they will never return.
What is this unprecedented blizzard? In the past twelve years, every time I encountered a reindeer, I chased Togo, the leading dog. Before the storm came, I ignored the passing reindeer for the first time in my life and ran directly to the nest. The instinct of animal survival suppressed love. Playful nature.
On one side of the scale "not going" is the lives of Asai and the sled team, while the other side "going" is the children who grew up in the town; the Asai couple are very familiar with the parents of the children... It's obvious which way the results tend to go. But Asay's decision was the exact opposite of most people's: he had made up his mind. For him, the lives of the children in the town are just as important, and making decisions requires no conditions or special reasons.
The sled dog Togo is the same as Asai. In the face of the master who was willing to offer everything to him, Togo accompanied him unconditionally. Unconditional love is higher than the fear of death.
After four days and four nights on the road, the sled team climbed the snow-capped mountains, rushed down the mountain peaks, passed through the forest, and galloped in the white snow. Due to Asai's misjudgment, the sled team nearly fell off a cliff and died. Thanks to Toge's pre-judgment in advance, the cliff strangled the dog and stopped in front of the god of death. The dogs panicked and whined in fear. At this time, Togo was more calm than humans. Its eyes were firm, and after hearing the master's order, it did not have the slightest doubt, and tried its best to pull everyone from the edge of the cliff, turning their heads and climbing up. Under the leadership of Togo, the sled team gradually got out of danger.
Togo gave Asai and the bobsled team their first lives.
Everyone not only saw the hope of survival from Togo, but also felt at ease because Togo was there. No dog questions its authority, and no dog fears the unknown any more. Even as long as Togo was there, Asai felt that no matter how difficult it was, everything was under control.
Togo fell sick in this fight with death. Asai also almost passed out on the long and extremely cold cycling road. Fortunately, they met the relay team who sent the serum, and they started their journey back to the town without stopping.
Considering the time to deliver the serum and Togo's physical strength, Asai still decides to venture across the frozen bay. However, the return journey through the ice was God's tougher test. During the gallop, the ice surface was torn apart. Their journey is like the dance of sharp knives on thin ice, every step is startling. In the final step of the approaching landing, the ice was washed away by the river. The shore a step away is like a hope blown away by the wind, drifting farther and farther.
In the nick of time, Togo took the lead and was thrown onto land with a rope tied. Togo at this time was a rivet thrown by the soldiers before they climbed the high wall. On the bare snow, its limbs and body are riveted claws attached to the snow, nailed to the snow again and again, pulling the sled team on the ice floes to the shore. In the end, the sled team made a successful landing with the efforts of Togo.
Togo gave Asai and the bobsleigh team a second life.
After running 425 kilometers day and night, Asai and Togo finally handed over the serum to the next one. The next stick was delivered to the serum, which was mistakenly hyped by reporters as a hero. In this regard, Asai and Togo did not care. The villagers knew very well that although Asai and Togo never thought about repaying before they decided to give, their unconditional love showed that they were the real heroes of the town.
In fact, Togo is still the hero of Asai. He was abandoned by Asai twice when he was a child, and he was still with him unconditionally all his life. Although Togo gave Asai two lives, he showed nothing, and even Asai himself didn't realize it.
The love that Asai gave to the town, the love that Togo gave to Asai, everything was unconditional.
