A very shocking movie

This is a movie that gave me a great shock, even though it was shot in the distant 1961.

I haven't watched many movies, but I've watched a lot of classic movies, but this movie gave me an unprecedented shock.

The first is the superb acting skills shown by the actors in the movie. Whether it is a judge, a defendant, a lawyer, or even a cleaner who testified in court, the acting skills shown are amazing.

The second is the film's superb ideology, profound reflection on the war, and the presumption of those who are really responsible or guilty of the war. It not only includes the investigation of the direct participants in the war, but also covers some Political leaders (such as Churchill) were held accountable for their inaction in the early days of the war, but also the arms dealers of the United States, and even the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany in the early days of the war.

Again, the video of the persecution of Jews shown in the film had a huge impact on me. It touched me greatly. He made me even more convinced that war is cruel, and it is something that mankind will try to avoid in the future.

Finally, at the end of the film, the judge's sentence: I sentence innocent people to guilt. The thought of the whole film has been sublimated like never before.

I think at some point in the future, I will revisit this movie, for no other reason, it is so good, it touches the soul deeply.

Judgment at Nuremberg quotes

  • Mrs. Bertholt: When I was a child, we used to go for long rides into the country in summertime. But I was never allowed to run to the lemonade stand with the others. I was told, "Control your thirst. Control hunger. Control emotion." It has served me well.

  • Judge Dan Haywood: Things haven't been very easy for you, have they?

Mrs. Bertholt: I'm not used to them being easy. I'm not fragile, Judge Haywood.
