The one-eyed boy Kubo lives with his frail mother. During the day, Kubo earns money by telling the villagers wonderful stories about strange forces and gods, and when it gets dark, he has to go home to take care of his mother. One day, Kubo came home late, and the evil sister who had taken one of Kubo's eyes came to Kubo's house and tried to take his other eye. During the melee, Kubo's mother died, and Kubo, who survived, was forced to leave the village and go into exile. Knowing that his father had left behind a suit of armor that would protect him from the evil sisters and his father, Luna, Kubo decided to set out to find it. On the way, Kubo encounters the amnesiac wizard Beetle, who also joins Kubo's team.
