The American version of "People on the Road", although the two stories are roughly similar, and they are both funny and warm, the directors are very good at making jokes from the details of life, but the two are very funny. They have East and West. The imprint of different social cultures.
A scene that impressed me deeply was that when the unmanageable companion drove Martin on the highway in a rented car, he turned on the music, listened to the song, played the piano and played the horn and closed his eyes. Really hilarious, this is a very proud person.
The music in the film is very characteristic of the 80s, very nice and kind.
The director John Hughes is actually the screenwriter of Home Alone. He is really talented in comedy.

Del: Unique... what's that, Latin for "asshole"?

  • Del: You know, when I'm dead and buried, all I'm gonna have around here to prove that I was here are some shower curtain rings that didn't fall down. Great legacy, huh?

Neal: At the very least, the absolute minimum, you've got a woman you love to grow old with, right?

    [Del is quiet]

Neal: You love her, don't you?

Del: Love... is not a big enough word. It's not a big enough word for how I feel about my wife.

Neal: [raises drink] To the wives.

    Del: To the wives!
