The film tells the story of Sestina, a little mouse who was asked to be a dentist but loves to paint, and Ernest, a big bear who was asked to be a judge but loves music. Two unrelated people living in different worlds. A common grief and selfless stay together.

The film begins with Sestina's drawing of a bear and a mouse, and it is this drawing that begins to give rise to the main thread of the article, the story of the bear and the mouse.

"What are you drawing, Sestina?"
"A bear."
"What about this?"
"A little mouse."
"Your drawing is wrong! How can a bear and a mouse be friends?"

The dean of the orphanage came to tell the mice bedtime stories, and similarly, it was about the abominable big bear who loved to eat mice. Bear and rat can't be friends, in their world, they were taught from childhood that bear and rat can't be friends because the bear will eat him.

In the world of mice, the big evil bear is a bedtime story specially used to scare children; in the world of bears, mice are terrible things that come to steal teeth... They fear and hate each other, and the above world and the underground world interact with each other. Do not meet.

It's just that Sestina doesn't believe in the existence of the Great Evil Bear. The adults wanted her to be a dentist, but she liked to draw the most—drawing a bear, a story about a bear and a mouse.

Mr. Xiong Ernest loves music. He dreams of becoming a musician, but his family wants him to be a judge.

By fate, Cestina and Mr. Xiong met.

One night, Senna came to the above world and infiltrated a family of bears. After being discovered, Senna was captured by the bear parents and ended up hiding in a trash can. Before leaving, she took away a tooth from a baby bear.

Aite Bear lives alone in the mountains, with no food for his family. One day, Aite, who was so hungry, went to the street to beg for food. When Art was rummaging through the trash can, he saw Senna, who was thrown into the trash can by the Bears last night when she came out to find her teeth.

Senna just lay there quietly, Art stared curiously for a while, and opened his mouth to eat. Senna tried to take him to the bear's candy store last night, so Art decided to eat. don't eat her. It was a not-so-friendly beginning, but the two got to know each other.

Senna returned to the Rat family and was criticized by the dentist for bringing back only one tooth. The incisors are the most important thing for mice, allowing them to eat and make sounds. Rats have teeth that wear out easily, so they use hard bear teeth as backup. Senna doesn't want to be a dentist, she just likes to paint. Her dreams are opposed, and the dentist orders Senna to retrieve 50 of her bear teeth.

On the ground, in the savvy bear family, the father sells desserts to the children and destroys the children's teeth, and the mother bear sells new bear teeth. Aite, who was stealing desserts in the underground warehouse, was found by Dad Bear, and the police took him away. Senna appears in the police car and makes a deal with Art: Senna helps Art leave, and Art has to do her a big favor. Art agreed. After Aite came out, he helped her find fifty teeth in return, so he pried open Mama Bear's shop and stole a bag of teeth.

Senna returns to the rat world, and the dentists are pleasantly surprised by the teeth Senna brought back. However, Aite who stayed in the rat world the day before was discovered by the mice, and Senna became the target of public criticism for letting Aite in. Senna could only escape back to the ground with Art, and drove away Papa Bear's car.

The bear cops and the rat cops tracked them all the way, and they finally got rid of them. When the rat policemen in the sewer rushed out of the sewer to hunt down the two protagonists, they happened to encounter a group of bear policemen. Their reactions were surprisingly consistent, they were all afraid of each other and retreated until they returned to their own safe zone.

They were each abandoned by their clansmen, but they became each other's support.

Sena and Art became wanted criminals in the world of mice and bears, and Sena had nowhere to go to stay at Art's house. Art reluctantly agreed to let Senna stay, but Senna lived underground, he lived on the ground. Senna couldn't fall asleep because of Art's noise, Senna went up angrily, saw Art's sleeping face, and took a picture. At night, Senna dreamed of a terrifying big bear, and woke up the next day to find Art beside her.

"Don't be afraid, Sestina, don't be afraid. Sestina, I'm not a nightmare, I'm Ernest."
"Ernest, calm down, I'm not a nightmare. I'm Sestina."
"Good night, Ernest."
"Good night."

Aite saw Senna's painting, praised her as a great artist, and offered her a studio.

Soon winter came, Aite was ill, and Sena took good care of him. She pulled his big body and put him on the bed. She cooked and fed him. Snow fell from the broken roof. He put up an umbrella.

When one of them is playing the piano and the other is painting, the melodious sound of the piano is accompanied by the dancing brush. At this moment, the picture seems to be still, and the two are harmonious and warm. The little mouse loves to paint, and he was directed by the little mouse to pose in various shapes, and the paintings were spread all over the floor.

However, the Rat Cops and Bear Cops did not stop catching Senna and Art. Senna and Art changed the color of Papa Bear's red truck with paint in order to hide their tracks. However, spring has come, and all things are revived.

One rainy day, the rain washed away the paint, inadvertently the car followed the original route and slipped back to the town. Bear police and rat police find the mountain through paint traces. Art hid in the cellar and Senna put on a mask, but they were all caught in the end.

The mouse was taken by the bear police team, and the bear was taken by the mouse police. The same torture, the same threat, and the same response, they never revealed the whereabouts of the other.

In the courtroom, Judge Rat and Bear accused Big Bear and Rat of various guilts, one of which was the most serious:

"You scared the children!" Both races have a strong prejudice against each other. At the end, the rat judge is on fire, and everyone flees in panic. The bear is pulled by two fleeing rats, but does not move, and goes to save the judge , took Judge Rat and plunged into the water; Judge Bear caught fire, and everyone fled in a hurry, only this weak mouse remained, put out the fire for him, and walked out of the church.

Even across races, I want to be with you.

"You saved me, is there anything I can do to make you happy?"

"Find Sestina and be with her forever."

"If you got out alive, Sestina, what would make you the happiest?"

"Find Ernest and never leave him again."

They spoke the same wish in different places.

Finally, when Sena and Art met, she threw herself into his arms, sobbing softly, and the bear wrapped the petite mouse around his huge body, as if the two of them were the only ones left in the world.

In the end, they lived together and were recognized by the world. On that day, he wanted to tell their story, so they built a bright future that belonged to them and to all the bears and mice. The bear found the mouse lying alone in the trash can, rescued her, put her in the pocket of the warm coat, saw her smiling so happily, and took her home

(9/10) After seeing more Japanese OTAKU and American Disney, why not take a look at this warm French animation. There are some scenes in the film that give me a sense of sight of Ghibli. I thought it was just an illusion caused by the atmosphere of the country. I didn't expect the director to be a Ghibli fan... The ending is a fairy tale reunion. I thought it would be cruel. For example, "Let the leader go first", it seems that I have been over brainwashed...
