The interesting development of "The Conjuring 3", the director who took the blame

Ah, I'm not a professional movie watcher, and I don't have much reason to say, but I also want to babble a few words of my own opinions.

——The changes of the film and the inadequacy of new directors——

The whole process, just the beginning, the final exorcism and the photos of the real case at the end are very similar to the original two ghosts.

The new director and Wen Ziren have a different feeling. The movement of the camera in some places in this film is really interesting, but the director does not seem to be suitable for making horror films. Except for a few jump scares, this film is really not scary. At best, it is covered with a veil of suspense that is a little scarier, more like a fantasy suspense film. In fact, Wen Ziren's "Latent" and "The Conjuring" have these elements, but the focus and soul are terrifying. It's not too bad to lose half of the soul. OK.

In the film, you can see a lot of shadows of the "Hidden" series, yin and yang eyes, detectives in the spiritual world, and the male protagonist is blackened (even the same actor hahaha), so this is more like a soul-calling and lurking hybrid film. It doesn't mean that it's not necessarily bad, but the audience just wants to see the original conjuring look. Wen Ziren, who has experience in filming "The Hidden", would not be able to film it again himself?

There are emotional touches, but the contrast is not enough. To put it bluntly, the most obvious example is that there is a scene where love affects the other party. If the previous contrast is in place, it will be touching. If the contrast is not in place, it will feel half touching and half old-fashioned, but at least The director did not abandon the emotional line of the conjuring couple.

There's nothing wrong with adding new elements, it just expands the plot in many ways, but it's still a bit of a taste, because this film looks scattered, in fact, it can be completely brought together in the end to make a reversal or something (like The Conjuring 2), but The director tried hard to keep it from falling apart, but it still fell apart. In the end, there was no wonderful reversal like The Conjuring II. The place where the climax should be called flat, and the climax did not achieve the effect when it was not climaxing. Bad is for a reason.

Hey, Wen Ziren, is it so difficult for you to make a knife yourself? The director's last film is only 5.9 points. This one, you will let him direct what you want, where is the confidence, some people say that he doesn't want to get his own feathers dirty , but what I want to say is that if you don't want to do it, don't do it, there's no need to treat the audience's expectations like this. Are you happy to be scolded for the new director's bad shooting?

By the way, the shortcomings of some places are said by some people too much. The "witch" element has been around since the beginning of the conjuring, but one is dead and the other is alive, but the pressure to shape the villain in this movie may not be enough. "Love conquers everything" and so on, isn't Soul Conjuration I and II also focused on family affection, and it's very touching. The director's grasp of the details determines everything. The horror of the first two films comes from the little things in life. The feelings are slowly cultivated and feel very emotional. This film has a lot of emphasis but not enough training, and the fantasy that is divorced from reality on this basis is interesting but cannot be brought into your own role.

Summary: The newcomer director has limited skills, and only half of the details and plot level are mastered. They are qualified but not amazing enough. There is a tendency to develop in a new direction, but the rhythm is not stable enough, which makes the plot a bit scattered. Fortunately, the whole film did not collapse seriously. If I watch it again, I would also like to watch it. It can be seen that this director has done his best at the level of this director. If there is a next film, I still hope that Wen Ziren will personally direct and find a more stable director, and respect his own film and our desire for high-quality horror films.

There is the courage and courage to explore this IP from different angles and directions (even different types of elements), but without Wen Ziren's ability, no matter how gorgeous the production, no matter how complicated the narration, it looks like an American drama. , has nothing to do with fear or not (tunnel mirroring is wonderful

After the layout is enlarged, it is obviously not as good as the previous two. The scare part is very weak, almost negligible, the plot is also slightly inferior, and the way to break the curse is a bit sudden (perfunctory). But the production is pretty good, and the three settings of investigation/black magic/soul wear have been refreshed. Compared with most other phobias in the first half of the year, "Call of Souls 3" clearly won a lot. Who doesn't want this kind of love? After lowering the expectations, I was still willing to give a four-star.
