A ghost's endless waiting, endless obsession.
This is a hell of loneliness.
Saw another ghost in the opposite house. The ghost said "I'm waiting for someone" and he asked "Who?" The ghost was disappointed "I don't remember."
When the object of longing and waiting has been forgotten, the only thing left is the obsession itself.
Waited and waited, and the person who waited never came back. When the house was torn down, the other ghost finally let go: "I don't think anyone will come back", it disappeared in an instant, and the sheets were slumped to the ground.
And he was still unwilling. Seeing the ruins rise from high-rise buildings, and seeing the wilderness full of neon lights.
Finally floated down, back to the beginning of everything. He saw that he and his girlfriend came here to rent a house, but what could be changed, he just experienced everything again, despite the name of "haunted", he still couldn't change it.
And he finally understood that the "haunted" in those days was the same and the reason.
In the end, he finally saw the note left by his girlfriend before he moved. He walked away, perhaps freed, perhaps completely gone.
And what exactly was written on that piece of paper? The movie didn't explain it to the end.
