Sherlock Holmes has been detained as a "highly intelligent and inhuman" character in some adaptations and fans. The character design is to be extreme and have a point of memory, so that it can explode. Sherlock Holmes in "The Detective Sherlock" has a similar character design, but it can be considered a parallel time and space with the original, which is acceptable and interesting enough. It is already a new Sherlock Holmes. However, in "Mr. Sherlock Holmes" is an elderly Sherlock Holmes based on a parallel time and space character, using a story to tell his old age and sigh.
The problem is, it's easy to give the audience the impression that "this is how Sherlock Holmes in the original book could have ended" and misunderstand the original Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock Holmes in the original book is not so exaggeratedly cold and inhuman. After reading the original book, my impression of Sherlock Holmes was more of his persistence in truth, his passion for justice, and his courage to not fear danger. He has protected many people in horrific cases, been wounded many times, and has spared sympathetic murderers, and he talked about why he fought in his duel with Moriarty. He knew what kind of impact love would have on him, so he voluntarily gave up to have love. It's not that he doesn't understand everything, he just feels that his brain capacity is limited, and he doesn't need to remember some small things, such as the latest gossip in the news. But it's not that he's not human, on the contrary, he is very human, so he can continue to do what he's doing.
Is this movie really annoying?
