It's rare to see such a sophisticated movie. The actors, scripts, and narrative techniques are all incomparable to today's movies. The filming is more interesting but not as funny as described in the comments. There are no extra shots in the whole film, and the language of the shots is very rigorous. The actors all look like excellent drama actors with solid foundations, with extremely high quality. Movies of that era were all shown scene by scene, which is not as good as modern movies. But Lubitsch's narrative technique is absolutely beyond the times, which has nothing to do with the times, no matter when he was born, he will be a master.
