"Life of Roses": Fly, fly

Chanson is the transliteration and collective name of French popular songs, born in the golden French period recognized by the world. The taste of French chanson has a unique charm due to the euphemism of French pronunciation and the realistic and gorgeous lyrics. Chanson songs have been popular since the beginning of the last century, and became popular in France in the 1930s. They were introduced to the United States because of the invention of the film, and were more thoroughly circulated. Before the era of modern pop and rock, the French chanson was equivalent to one of the heavyweight pop music and influenced generations.

To be honest, when I knew that the graceful female voice that filled the sky above the ruins before the decisive battle in "Saving the Privates" was the song "Life of a Rose", I realized the powerful appeal of "Queen of Chansons" Edith Piaf; France Chanson is still favored by elegant people today, and I can't help but admire Piaf's rough life. Compared with Piaf's brilliant career, the legendary singer's life was almost a commoner and an isolated one. Her life seems to be singing only for the general public, but at the beginning and end of her life, she has always been full of loneliness and hopelessness.

Director Olivier D'Aon presents this biographical film with an assemblage that focuses on Piaf's life and progresses layer by layer. Olivier D'Ang holds the foundation of the linear structure of traditional biographical films, combining a large number of flashbacks and reminiscence fragments to discover a plot chain that closely resembles one another. This high-density life path is just right. Through various sensational techniques and narrative blanks, it not only continues the clarity of the traditional narrative, but also eliminates the shortcomings of easy boring, but also produces obvious and strong drama through the echoes of the characters' fates.

I never thought that I would cry twice for this movie. It was very happy and relieved. One was Piaf's first fall on stage, and the other was her final performance.

The reason why she still stands on the stage to play the radiant little skylark is not only her love for her career, but also her loyalty to fate. Perhaps, with nothing, she knows best that the singer on the stage is where her brilliance lies and who she can achieve. Under the light, she uses talent and hard work to build perfection together, so that she can feel the real existence of another self, and can overcome the harshness and deviation that fate has always treated her. Piaf is not a person who is loyal to the system, she is just loyal to pursue the beauty in human nature.

A strong sense of belonging and willpower in her personality allowed her to be radically different from the others in her final performance, which was soon to come. She still needs to stand in the spotlight and be willing to impress listeners with her perfect voice. However, this is the final performance. Although she herself does not believe in her reality, everyone knows that this is a cruelty that cannot be seen directly. The terminally ill Piaf stubbornly stood in front of the microphone. Mission and fate, fearlessness and sorrow, death and life all sang on the stage. Because of this, the light that belongs to the great can illuminate the darkness in human nature. At this moment, not everyone can do it.

The first half of Piaf's life was almost a portrait of a stray dog, and the second half of her life was a typical condensed struggle against fate. Throughout her life, it is her "Little Skylark" generally gifted voice, and God only gave her this physical gift. This song that sang the world not only left a treasure for the world, but also formed a huge protection for her own rough life. There is a certain spirit in her body that is fundamentally different from the beautiful singing that she is gifted with. After reading Piaf's experience, I understand why this woman with many external and internal flaws is still radiant and touching.

If an ordinary person has experienced the life of little Piaf, it is hard to believe that she can still be favored and favored by God. Born to be ugly, living in a loss of love. The mother is crazy and broken, and the father is selfish. He spent his childhood in a brothel, and his best relationship was with a young prostitute. Later, he lived almost speechless in the circus, until the shocking street singing, which turned into a street performer and made a living. Finally, she had a turn for the better, and she could only face the troubles left by the death of the nightclub owner.

After such an experience, I believe that no one will ask Piaf to be a lady, to avoid drugs, to be unwilling, and to be as noble as a famous family. It is true that the adult Piaf still has countless bad habits and bad temper. She is short-tempered, vulgar, drug-drinking, headstrong, moody, in love with a married man, and ignores the concerns of her friends. And so on, after she became famous, she was off the stage. However, how can a woman of this kind always be sought after by audiences all over the world and accompanied by many friends?

Piaf's greatness lies in her unstoppable attitude of fighting against fate. Whether she was a little girl, when she opened her eyes and saw the light again, when she was a little girl, she stood up and sang a song, and when she was a girl, she stood on the streets of the nobles to sing for a living. She has never avoided and suffered from all kinds of unbearable and tragic lives of her own. God only left her with a good voice, but let him live in loss and love. However, Piaf achieved a state where she was not defeated by fate. She has achieved herself with only potential and a fearless mentality, and continues to move forward. Such a person stands on the stage of the tsunami, and the feedback is some kind of power. In fact, this power is exactly the same as her bravery and dedication when she sings.

A person is bound to encounter the injustice of fate, which may be congenital deficiency or acquired bad. And for the baptism of cruel reality, it is important not to fall down in life and let the soul die completely. What Piaf can do and is different is that she accepts the cruel baptism of fate calmly, and is not afraid of all the sadness it brings. On the contrary, she can use her little talent as a weight to overcome fate, and she will also insist on confronting reality in the power of self-sublimation, and she succeeds.

Do normal people really have that kind of courage, patience, and perseverance? Therefore, when the great generation of chanson queens still persist on the stage even though the time is short, the answer you get is not about the feelings of vanity and commercialization, but will really be moved by what you see. A person with love, persistence, focus on himself, and loyalty to the world can overcome the misery of fate.

French actor Marion Gloria recreated Piaf's career with a drastic revision of her appearance and superb acting skills. Gloria destroyed her 1.8-meter height and beautiful appearance, and successfully expressed the character's neurotic spiritual world and sincere love. It is really difficult to interpret this complex character, not only an early public figure, but also an extreme spiritual world, a rather simple heart and a complex life experience. A's performance is absolutely convincing, and then deeply moved.

"Life of Roses" is a French movie, with the same warm taste as "Spring in the Cattle Class". This kind of drama has a French romantic feeling and a strong French cultural heritage. Although the overall narrative is too forceful and weakens the realism of the realistic style, the taste is still there. "Rose Life" is actually telling everyone a truth: everyone should respect their own slight advantages and make them potential. In doing so, many sources of suffering will be further and further removed from you.
