After the head of Asano Uchi and 47 Ronin cut their abdomens, the place of burial is Sengakuji Temple (an existing historic site in Tokyo, Exit A2 of Sengakuji Station on the Toei Asakusa Line), the former Sengakuji Temple where Tokugawa Ieyasu founded the "Caodong Sect" in Japan. It was later burned down in the fire of 1641 (18 years of Kanei), when six daimyo (including the Asano family) worked together to rebuild the existing Senyue Temple on the original site, which later became the Asano family Bodhi Temple. Nowadays, there are two times every spring and autumn to mourn the righteous people of the Ako 47 Ronin.
