Ordinary at first sight, long-lasting memories

I read it for the first time a week ago and I gave it four stars.

This week, I couldn't look back on myself at many moments, and I realized the charm of this old movie more and more, and quickly changed it to five stars.

There are so many details that I take for granted on first viewing that I don't notice. For example, this film is so tender. When I say tenderness, I do not mean that there is no high-profile plot of animal instinct that stimulates human adrenal hormones. After all, it has the story structure of any movie, and there is no lack of succession and transition. The tenderness of "Little Shoes" lies in the sense of restraint. Its audiovisual language is handled extremely skillfully, and it is good at stopping, leaving a long aftertaste. There's no way to cry out loud while watching this movie, it just stuffs clumps of sore cotton into your heart, and the tingling grows slowly, slowly.

Iranian in-system movies are really interesting. Such a high proportion of children's films obviously avoids all kinds of controversial topics. It tells the bottom story and the warmest story in calm and temperate language.

Three years ago, I would have preferred Why Home.

Now, I'm going to like Little Shoes even more.

Well, I finally understand why Dai Ye talked about film criticism, the first one was about small shoes. Although she emphasized the logic between the plot group and the camera group in that class, its spirituality was the first reason why it was selected.

There are small fish kissing in the blue water waves, as if the mustard seeds became the universe at that moment.

It's hard to imagine that it was already July 13th, 2009 that I marked wanting to see this movie. The first time I knew this movie was supposed to be a classroom story told by a teacher in middle school. Ali, a little boy in the Middle East, because his family is poor, even buying a pair of shoes for his sister has become a luxury. He hopes to win the third prize for his sister through a running competition: a pair of sneakers. Unfortunately, it backfired, he accidentally won the championship in the final sprint. The photographer took pictures of him, but he couldn't help crying for the camera. He may be the saddest long-distance running champion in the world. Even if I know the storyline of the movie, it is still better than I imagined. Brother and sister exchange shoes to go to school, find that they have picked up their sister's shoes and the family is in worse condition and can't bear to get them back, the boy and his father knock on the door under the scorching sun to ask for work, the poor boy Ali and the rich boy Ali in the manor have similar names Fate is very different. The reason why the movie is good is because it is very real, but on second thought, I hope it better not be real.

There is no deliberateness, exhibitions, landscapes, honestly shooting, but it can catch people and make people reflect-do movies really need those things? The last scene of the Goldfish Pond even had a bit of Zen, and was so ordinary and simple, making the whole film instantly transparent. How could it be so good!

Children of Heaven quotes

  • Ali: Zahra, I have good news.

    Zahra: What news?

Ali: I am selected for the race.

    Zahra: What race?

Ali: Long-Distance Running. The third-best runner gets a pair of new sneakers.

    Zahra: Why the third?

Ali: The First and Second prizes are something else. If I come in third, I'll give you the sneakers.

Zahra: But those shoes are for boys.

Ali: I'll exchange them. I'll get a pair of girl's shoes for you.

Zahra: What if you don't come in third?

Ali: I'll be third for sure.
