1 Divorce from wife

A lot of people don't understand why I got divorced. In fact, every entrepreneur needs someone to be sure of himself.

People like us are powerful and vulnerable, and often feel that the world belongs to us, and then immediately feel that we do not deserve to be alive.

I can only comfort myself when night falls by listening to the lecturer tell me the secret of success, like a wounded beast licking its wounds.

Really, too eager to be recognized. Too much need a success to prove himself.

As a serial entrepreneur, the first few times I ended in failure, which led me to spend every day in denial, and I couldn't hear the voice of affirmation at all. Give yourself psychological hints again and again, and keep stamping your thoughts on yourself, so that you can have enough courage to fight against all denials.

Yes, I've been doing this for more than thirty years. I firmly believe that I can definitely change my destiny.

Today, however, I saw a great idea, even so great, and I told myself again, I can do it right this time, and I'll go bankrupt and prove me right!

However, before I made a grade, I still got a negative. Can't hear anything good.

I went home and this was my safe haven. As a result, I had to deal with a wife who denied me, no matter how excited I was telling her about the idea, she just didn't get it.

Can you understand? The people closest to me are also denying my worth. Can you understand the feeling of being abandoned by the world?

Why is no one willing to believe me and look down on me like everyone else?

So I decided that no matter what happens, I will do it! I have to make people believe that I am right!

However, during dinner that day, my wife held my hand in front of my rich friends. My wife actually recognized that I was different this time. It turned out that she believed me, but she didn't say it.

However, what I didn't expect was that my wife supported me just because of other people's evaluations, just because she didn't want to be looked down upon by rich friends, and she didn't think I really had the courage to change the world at all.

She never saw me as someone who had the courage to risk everything changing.

But Joan was different. She saw my courage and believed in my heart that I could do it. She also helped me in action and affirmed my entrepreneurial project.

So, I can give my wife everything in divorce and let her keep her mediocrity.

Except for McDonald's, which I bought with my life, it is impossible to give. I won't give her a cent, she can't get what she once despised and didn't admit.

So I gave my wife what she wanted: stability. I took away what she feared: risk.

That way we owe nothing to each other.

2 against brother

What's the point of sticking to technology?

I have communicated with you over and over again, and again and again I hang my life on the line, mortgage everything, to participate in this revolution.

But what about you? What's the difference between all those who deny me other than negation or negation?

I approve of your technology for inventing high-speed systems. I also recognize your quality, otherwise I would not have turned my face with those rich friends.

I recognize all of you and am willing to devote myself to this great American dream.

But what about you? Did you respect my opinion? Every suggestion I make is for the purpose of rapid development of the enterprise. Is this just for me?

This is to make McDonald's a great existence. Only with such a successful business, I will not live in denial, and there will be no bank debt collection that ruins my previous family.

Therefore, I am more eager for a family that is like-minded and dares to fight. Even if these people are partners, they are more like relatives, rather than my wife and you two brothers who completely deny it.

You said you have a high-speed system in addition to this name, what else did you do? Guarding three points of an acre of land? It's me who did everything to make McDonald's expand!

I can't turn around now and my finances are tight, how about you? Holding high profit dividends also prevents my development.

I have never received your respect from the beginning to the end, and I have not received your approval from the beginning to the end! I am your tool man from start to finish.

ok, now I got the means to deceive you and successfully became the owner of McDonald's.

I give you the $2.7 million you deserve.

Want shares? Why?

At this time, I knew that I was talking about shares. At that time, I only hoped to get a 4% dividend. Did you give it?

People who call McDonald's don't get called on by life, you guys just get what you deserve.

The success of McDonald's has nothing to do with you, so goodbye Dick.

I believe that every entrepreneur can personally feel this unrecognized state.

It's not that we have bad characters, it's just that they don't deserve it.

The Founder quotes

  • Dick McDonald: I just have to ask you one thing. Something I've never understood.

    Ray Kroc: Alright.

Dick McDonald: That day we met, when we gave you the tour...

Ray Kroc: Uh huh. What about it?

Dick McDonald: We showed you everything. The whole system, all of our secrets. We were an open book. So why didn't you just...

Ray Kroc: Steal it? Just, grab your ideas and run off, start my own business... using all those ideas of yours. It would have failed.

Dick McDonald: How do you know?

Ray Kroc: Am I the only one who got the kitchen tour? You must have invited lots of people back there, huh?

    Dick McDonald: And?

Ray Kroc: How many of them succeeded?

Dick McDonald: Lots of people started restaurants.

Ray Kroc: As big as McDonald's?

    Dick McDonald: Of course not.

Ray Kroc: No one ever has and no one ever will because they all lacked that one thing... that makes McDonald's special.

    Dick McDonald: Which is?

Ray Kroc: Even you don't know what it is.

    Dick McDonald: Enlighten me.

Ray Kroc: It's not just the system, Dick. It's the name. That glorious name, McDonald's. It could be, anything you want it to be... it's limitless, it's wide open... it sounds, uh... it sounds like... it sounds like America. That's compared to Kroc. What a crock. What a load of crock. Would you eat at a place named Kroc's? Kroc's has that blunt, Slavic sound. Kroc's. But McDonald's, oh boy. That's a beauty. A guy named McDonald? He's never gonna get pushed around in life.

Dick McDonald: That's clearly not the case.

Ray Kroc: So, you don't have a check for 1.35 million dollars in your pocket? Bye Dick.

Dick McDonald: So if you can't beat'em, buy'em.

Ray Kroc: I remember the first time I saw that name stretched across your stand out there. It was love at first sight. I knew right then and there... I had to have it. And now I do.

Dick McDonald: You don't have it.

Ray Kroc: You sure about that?

    Ray Kroc: Bye Dick.

  • Ray Kroc: Look, if you don't wanna make a profit, that's fine. But don't stop the rest of us.

    Dick McDonald: Us?

Ray Kroc: Us, as in everyone but you.

Dick McDonald: Who did you send them to?

    Ray Kroc: Everyone but you.

Dick McDonald: You have no right. You are to stop this instant, is that clear?

    Ray Kroc: Nah...

Dick McDonald: What the hell does that mean, nah? You will abide by the terms of your deal.

Ray Kroc: I am through taking marching orders from you... You and your endless parade of NO's. Constantly cowering in the face of progress.

Dick McDonald: If phony powdered milkshakes is your idea of progress you have a profound misunderstand of what McDonald's is about.

Ray Kroc: I have a far greater understanding of McDonald's than you two yokles.

Dick McDonald: What? You will do as we say.

    Ray Kroc: Nope.

Dick McDonald: You have a contract!

Ray Kroc: You know, contracts are like hearts... they're made to be broken.
