l Introduction

The documentary "Earth Pulse", which once amazed the world, is once again dedicated to the latest second season by the production team from the BBC. In this season, the audience will continue to witness the ordinary and wonderful life moments of animals and plants in every corner of the earth. There are six episodes in this season, divided into islands, mountains, jungles, deserts, grasslands and cities, sloths, monitor lizards, lemurs, marine iguanas, chinstrap penguins, snow leopards, golden eagles, spider monkeys, jaguars... Thousands of creatures created by the magical hand of nature have lived on the land of birth with their own habits since childhood. They conform to the harsh natural environment and tenaciously chase the rising sun of tomorrow. However, the unscrupulous activities of human beings have eroded the living environment of other creatures.

They are small and great, and through the lens of the BBC, the brilliance of life is magnified, shining in every corner of the earth.

l Notes

Episode 1 Islands

Remote islands provide sanctuary for some of the strangest and rarest creatures on Earth. This rare three-toed sloth enjoys a peaceful life on an idyllic Caribbean island, while nesting albatrosses thrive in an environment free of predators. But island life always comes with a price. On the Galapagos Islands, young marine iguanas must escape a deadly racer snake the moment they hatch from the sand. On the subantarctic island of Zavodowski, life has become more extreme. Every day, 1.5 million penguins are at risk of being hit by the waves as they try to survive on the island.

Those wilderness areas have never been more vulnerable and precious than they are today.

Only a few hundred pygmy three-toed sloths survive.

The Komodo dragon is the largest living lizard on Earth.

Cold-blooded reptiles can survive on one-tenth the food of carnivorous mammals.

In monitor lizard society, size is everything.

Madagascar is one of the largest and oldest islands in the world.

Today, there are still new islands formed by volcanic eruptions. In the past fifty years, ten new volcanic islands have formed.

Marine iguanas can hold their breath in the water for up to half an hour.

Snakes have poor eyesight, but they can sense the movement of objects. So if marine iguana cubs can stay still, they may be able to avoid the snake's perception.

The vine tree is also known as the "bird-catcher tree".

The Red Crab March on Christmas Island is one of the most spectacular natural sights on Earth.

Isolated populations of organisms may survive millions of years in relative tranquility, but when new challenges suddenly arise (such as invasive alien species), they can struggle to cope.

About 80% of the species that have gone extinct in recent years are island creatures.

Zavodowski Island is the largest penguin colony in the world.

Islands may seem remote and insignificant, but they are home to some of the most precious species on Earth.

The trip to Zavodowski Island was the most heroic expedition in the series.

Four seasons can be experienced in ten minutes on Zavodowski Island.

Episode 2 Mountains (Top of the Mountains)

Great mountains are some of the most spectacular landscapes on earth, but they are intolerable habitats, and only a few animals have the conditions to survive at extreme altitudes. The animals of the mountains are some of the most elusive in the world, and this film offers a unique and intimate glimpse into their mysterious lives. Four snow leopards are seen congregating when a mother and cub are trapped between two hostile males. When they dance with grizzly bears, they dance with trees to rub their winter fur and soar over the snow-capped peaks of Europe.

There are very few peaks in the world with an altitude of more than 8,000 meters, and all of them are in the Himalayas.

The Yi Sheep will choose the steepest cliffs to raise their offspring because it is safe and out of reach of predators.

The Alps are the highest peaks in Europe.

In winter, even golden eagles have to rely almost entirely on carrion.

Over the mountains of North America, thousands of avalanches occur every year.

In summer, an adult bear can gain 180 kilograms just by eating plants.

Every bear has his favorite tree to rub against, and is willing to travel long distances to find that tree.

In the Andes, some glaciers have halved in just three decades.

Snow leopards are so rare that there are only four in a 40-square-mile area.

Male leopards tend to kill cubs that are not their own offspring.

Alpine animals are struggling to survive.

Episode 3 Jungles (Forest of the Jungle)

The jungle offers the richest habitat on Earth, a mysterious, high-drama world where unusual animals try to survive in the most competitive places on Earth. In the dense underground world, ninja frogs soar among the trees with wasps and dragon lizards. In the forests of Madagascar, aerobatic shows jump, and jungle nights hide strange fungi and dark creatures that have never been filmed.

The jungle is the Garden of Eden. It covers less than 6% of the Earth's surface, yet is home to more than half of all plants and animals.

One-third of spider monkeys die as a result of falling while climbing.

One tree does not allow two lizards.

In the jungle, only 2% of sunlight reaches the ground.

A single large sandbox tree is home to thousands of other plants.

The jungle is the most fertile place on earth because it creates its own climate.

The capybara is the largest rodent in the world.

The jaguar is the killer of the killers, even the caiman.

Unlike plants, fungi thrive on dark forest floors.

Malu couldn't see the red light.

Episode 4 Deserts

The world's deserts are lands of extremes, forcing animals to come up with some ingenious ways to deal with hostile conditions, leading to some of the most incredible survival stories on Earth. Proud desert lions are so hungry that they risk hunting giraffes several times their size, while male sand chickens fly 120 miles a day to the nearest watering hole and die for the chicks to collect water. A tiny bat did battle one of the world's deadliest scorpions when it was first filmed, and the biblical proportions of adult locusts have never been seen in Madagascar.

Deserts cover one third of the earth's land.

A giraffe can kill a lion with a kick.

Most lion hunts fail, especially in desert areas.

The chestnut-winged eagle is the only bird of prey that hunts in flocks.

The Peruvian desert is the driest desert in the world.

No creature has taken advantage of the desert greening turnaround faster and more thoroughly than locusts.

Locust swarms of this size only appear once every ten years or so.

For many animals, the only way to survive hard times is to keep migrating.

Sometimes the female elephants can take the herd to a small puddle they haven't been to in decades.

Each year, more than 50,000 square miles of grass and farmland are turned into barren dust and rock.

It's incredible that the United Nations and the BBC worked together and ended up losing out to a small puddle.

Episode 5 Grasslands

Grasslands cover a quarter of all land and support large concentrations of wildlife, but to survive here, animals must endure some of the harshest seasonal changes on Earth. From the bizarre Saigon antelope in Asia to the giant carnivores in Brazil, steppe animals have adapted to these extremes in unusual ways. In the flooded Okavango, lions prey on a formidable buffalo in the savannah in epic battle, predators use elephants to help catch insects, and in the frigid northern tundra, reindeer begin Great migration in the shadow of hungry arctic wolves.

A quarter of the earth's land is grassland.

Elephant grass is the tallest grass in the world.

The Eurasian steppe is the largest steppe on earth.

The nose of a high-nosed antelope can smell the fragrance of fresh pastures hundreds of miles away.

The rain that the grassland needs for a year sometimes falls together in an instant.

The largest bulls do not run away, they are not afraid of lions.

Grass has an extraordinary ability to go from germination to flowering in just a few days, given the right conditions.

Nest mice rarely travel to the ground.

The grey-necked bustard is the heaviest flying bird in the world.

The ostrich is the heaviest bird.

Leaf cutter ants harvest a third of the world's grass.

The giant anteater can devour 20,000 insects a day.

The thick fur of the American bison insulates it from the freezing cold of minus seven degrees.

All life on the grasslands depends on the changing seasons.

Caribou can run faster than an Olympic sprinter in their first day of life.

Through floods, fires, and frost, the grass still thrives.

The grasslands have the most spectacular wildlife.

Of all the national parks, Kachilanga National Park has the highest number of human killings by wildlife.

When the female buffalo senses danger, she will attack.

In Kachilanga, buffaloes kill far more people than other animals.

Nothing attracts a tiger more than a rhino carcass.

Animals in the wild world also like privacy.

Episode 6 Cities

Cities are growing faster than any other habitat on Earth. They seem unlikely places where animals thrive, but they could be a world of unexpected opportunities. Leopards roam the streets of Mumbai, hunt falcons in the skyscrapers of New York, and a million starlings perform a spectacular aerial dance over Rome. In Jodhpur, langurs are revered as religious deities, and in Harar, locals live in harmony with wild hyenas. However, many animals struggle to cope in the urban jungle. As architects of this environment, can humans choose to build homes that are both themselves and wildlife?

In Jodhpur, India, long-tailed langurs are associated with the Hindu god monkey Hanuman, and they are worshipped and given all edible food.

For animals, the benefits of living in cities are huge, as long as they can find an ecological niche that suits them.

New York City has the highest density of peregrine falcon nests on the planet.

Over the past 25 years in Mumbai, leopards have attacked nearly 200 people here.

In Rome in winter, 10 tons of starling droppings rain down on the ground every day.

Raccoons are opportunistic and love to explore.

Rhesus monkeys are not only intelligent, but also shameless, which is the key to their ability to defeat humans in the home field of humans.

Hyenas are perhaps the most notorious animals on the planet. But in the Indian city of Harar, their relationship with humans is completely peaceful.

The original pigeon is by far the most successful urban bird.

In the wild, light controls the behavior of all living things.

Only a small fraction of animals have found a way to live in peace with humans.

Every decade, an area the size of the United Kingdom disappears into the reinforced concrete jungle.

If we are willing to green the facades and roofs of our buildings, we can create a rich and vast habitat for wildlife.

We certainly have a responsibility to do everything in our power to create a home on this planet, not only for ourselves, but for all life on Earth.

l Short Comments

In the animal world, fight for survival every day. Sometimes just for a piece of territory, a mouthful of food, a mouthful of water, we must fight to the death and fight for life.

The scrawny lioness, in order to leave the food that she hunted hard for her children, fought alone with several strong and large male lions, and her whole body was covered in blood; the emperor penguins in the ice and snow world, in order to warm the newborn penguins, can not eat or not. Standing in the snow and wind of Antarctica for four months without moving the ground, until the spouse travels through thousands of kilometers of ice and snow to find food, he can breathe a sigh of relief. , flying 200 kilometers every day to fetch water for the chickens, surrounded by strong enemies all the way, and may die at any time, but they risk their lives day after day and never back down.

Look at the flying bird that drags its slender tail feathers lightly across the blue sky, more amazing than a rainbow;

Look at the strong, slender, snow leopard that is more beautiful than the gods on the top of the mountains;

Look at the huge, silent blue whale that swims in the deepest seabed and is even more mysterious than the ancient beasts.

Hundreds of millions of flesh and blood, their beauty, their strength, their will, in the end, all turned to dust and returned to the earth. And there is only the earth itself.
