Moxie is based on Jennifer Mathieu's novel of the same name. The story tells the story of a 16-year-old girl named Vivian's awakening of feminism. The movie? It begins when the black girl Lucy transfers to Vivian's high school. Lucy bravely confronts the school's discrimination against girls with "holding her head high", and Vivian just realizes the widespread sexism and indifference in the school. How terrifying has it grown? With the support of friends and mothers, the feminist magazine Mixie was published anonymously, inspiring girls in the same school to fight this injustice.
Amy Poehler directs the movie and plays Vivian's mom, very clever, inspiring and is not a “traditional mom.” We see Vivian's journey from follower to leader. Lucy is such a bold and confident woman, standing up for what is right. Seth comes across as a really cool love interest of Vivian's and male ally to the female revolution. Patrick Schwarzenegger's portrayal of Mitchell Wilson is terrific, really as handsome as his dad was when he was young. (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o)))
The key messages in this film are: to be the change you want to see, and friendship can support that change.
