A film about the growth of family members

What the future is, is yet to come.

It is precisely because it has not arrived, so I have expectations and longings. It is the yearning of human beings for a better life, and it is the hope that everyone and everything can develop to the better side.

The film tells about such a small family, in the slow running-in, it gradually tends to be harmonious and everyone adapts to each other.

From male and female friends to husband and wife, from husband and wife to parents, and from only child to elder brother, all need to experience growth and adapt to the change of identity.

Probably because children are more imaginative, so the movie allows us to go back to the past and the future from the perspective of children, and use the timeline to solve the current contradictions.

On the one hand, we have seen the growth of Xiaojun. From several fantasies—puppy, future, mother, great-grandfather, and himself, we have learned empathy, responsibility, sensibleness, bravery, and caring for his family.

On the other hand, the movie also sees the growth of the parents from some details. The father never knew how to do housework until he was able to take care of his children calmly, and became a father who took care of both work and family; the mother changed from an irritable and self-righteous temper to a more gentle and virtuous one.

This is a movie about family. Especially in dealing with the relationship between two children, how parents deal with it, also gives some references.

Although there are no children, but just going through the process of marriage, you will find that changing from boyfriend and girlfriend to husband and wife does require a lot of consideration, and you will encounter problems that were not a problem before and become a big problem now.

I hope that my marriage with my wife can also find a balance in plainness, bickering, and romance.

Mirai quotes

  • Father: This is your baby sister, Kun.

    Kun: Sister?

    Mother: Isn't she precious?

Kun: [gasping in amazement] She is.

[pokes his finger against her delicate hand]

Mother: You have to be gentle with her.

Kun: [gently takes hold of the baby's hand; she opens her eyes]

Father: She's awake. I think she's staring at you, Kun.

Mother: Come on, her eyes can't even focus yet.

Father: Well she sure looks like she's staring to me.

Mother: You must always be nice to her, okay?

    Kun: Okay.

Mother: And you have to protect her no matter what.

    Kun: Yeah.

    Mother: Always.

  • Mirai: You did it again. You tried to hit me with your bullet train even after Mom told you not to.

Kun: But it wasn't a bullet train!

Mirai: You aren't supposed to use a bullet train to hit people.

Kun: It was a Super Azusa.

Mirai: [angrily] I don't care what kind it was!

    [scoffs]

Mirai: And why can't you be a little nicer to Mom?

    Kun: I don't know, I just can't.

Mirai: It's her one day off from work. She doesn't get many and she has to spend it fighting with you. Come on, try.

Kun: [sniffling] I know... I'm not cute.

    Mirai: Huh?

Kun: [crying, wipes tear from his eye] Both Baby Mirai and Yukio are really cute. Not me. I know I'm not that cute anymore.

    [continues sobbing]

Mirai: Oh come on, that's not true. You're very cute!

    Kun: [walking away]

    Mirai: You're the cutest! Adorable!

    Kun: [crying harder; runs away]
