"The Grapes of Wrath"

Tom killed the policeman in the refugee camp. He was worried about affecting his family and was about to leave the house. His mother kept Tom:

Tom, I don't understand a lot of things, but it won't be easy for us if you go away.

We used to have a piece of land, a border,

The old man dies, the new man is born, we are always one,

We are a family.

A clean and complete family.

Now we are no longer innocent,

We can no longer be innocent.

Al is only concerned with himself all day long,

Uncle John just had to wait and see,

Your father is no longer the head of the family,

This home is in pieces, Tom.

We have no home.

Rose was about to have a baby, and she was born a child without a home.

I want to encourage her, but...

And Wenfield, what will he become like this?

Growing up like a wild child with Lucy, like a beast,

Can't be trusted.

Don't go, Tom. Stay and help, do me a favor.

...

At the end of the film, Tom is gone, and the mother leads the family to continue on the road.

On the way, my mother said:

"I won't be afraid anymore. For a moment, it seemed like we were knocked down, as if the world was full of enemies, and there were no good people anymore. I did feel sad and scared, as if we had failed, and no one cared about us..."

"You are our backbone...."

"Old man, women are more adaptable than men.

Men's lives are leaps and bounds.

A child is born, or someone dies, it's a jump.

Gaining or losing a farm is also a jump.

But a woman's life is like a stream, with small ups and downs, but the current doesn't stop.

This is how women see the world. "

"Possibly, but we did fail."

"I know, that's why we're stronger.

The rich disappear quickly, and the rich children will not last forever, but we will never become extinct.

We are the people.

Can't be destroyed, can't be defeated.

We will never be extinct because we are the people. "

A classic case in film history, the grief-stricken history of the Great Depression in the United States, a period of longing for a socialist ideal country. This turned out to be young Henry Fonda.

Want to see Day 2100/Samsung and a half. In the end, the strength is not as good as expected, and the rhetoric from the character's mouth is disproportionate to the back pain presented in the movie. What I like most is the historical restoration in black and white texture, and the information obtained indirectly is particularly important. It's best to read the original at the end.

The Grapes of Wrath quotes

  • Casy: You don' know what you're a-doin'.

  • Casy: Maybe there ain't no sin and there ain't no virtue, they's just what people does. Some things folks do is nice and some ain't so nice, and that's all any man's got a right to say.
