Count of Monte Cristo

Thinking of "The Count of Monte Cristo" ("New Count of Monte Cristo") that I just watched a while ago, write some thoughts while still having some memory.

I can't remember when I read the original book when I was in college or high school, and I was infected by the protagonist's tortuous experience. I often immersed myself in his situation to dream about it.

I was very excited when I saw the movie version accidentally. Of course, I have to take a closer look. After reading it, I'm just enjoying it! But after reading many people’s feelings, I discovered that there was already a 98-year-old version, but I didn’t know it, and said that the old version is better than the new one. If you have a chance, you must take a look...

In fact, except for the earl’s in prison. Suffering and encountering priests gave me a new life. I am not impressed with the others. I think I must have thought this period was the most exciting and favorite.

As for some people who say that the movie has deleted a lot of content in the original work, I think this should be innocuous. Which novel should not be changed when it is made into a movie? It’s just that this change depends on the mind of the director and the screenwriter. For this film, in my opinion, at least it did not fail~

The Count of Monte Cristo quotes

  • Albert Mondego: May I ask who you are, sir?

Count of Monte Cristo: For the present, your friend. Tomorrow, your host. For the short time formality stands between us, the Count of Monte Cristo.

  • Dorleac: And if you're thinking just now 'Why me, oh God?' the answer is: God has nothing to do with it. In fact, God is never in France this time of year.

Edmond: God has everything to do with it. He's everywhere. He sees everything.

Dorleac: Alright. Let's make a bargain, shall we? You ask God for help and I'll stop the moment he shows up.
