Dennis is an orphan, an orphan who doesn't fit in with others. It is a real pain for a child to be both intelligent and sensitive at the same time. As sensitive as him, he cannot accept the fact of being abandoned by his parents like other children, but as smart as him, he can successfully make up a story of Mars and protect himself firmly in his castle. Maybe everyone secretly wished that they were someone special when they were young? When I think of myself as a child, I often hope that Athena, who is sleeping in my body, will wake up one day, or a talking car will pick me up to go chivalrous. dissatisfaction, escape from the "ordinary" life. But for Dennis, that hope has become so strong that it is the belief and support of all his life, not to escape, but to belong. You can not want me, I don't care, because I am different, I have a mission, one day, my home will pick me up. The child's voice was hoarse and low like a whisper in the night, and the indifferent expression could not conceal the unease and fragility of a wounded animal. What would the child's life have been like if Dennis hadn't met David? I think he will be able to break through the psychological barrier of his loneliness one day, but the process must be quite long, at least it will take the entire childhood time that should be used for laughter.
A few details are hilarious: Dennis, facing the adoption committee, quoted exactly what David had said to him; David made Dennis's "decompose" gesture to the publisher; in the barber shop, the barber cut Dennis with every cut Just let out a super high decibel scream (think he usually talks like a kitten). But I don't understand why the gimmicks of Martian wish and M&M jelly beans are used to confuse the audience, just to shake the audience into thinking that Dennis is really from Mars? Martian wish echoed it at the climax. Although it was very touching, it was a pity that I expected this model from the beginning; I don't know if M&M gave sponsorship or not, but I have to admit that this soft ad is still very successful, at least I really want to buy a pack right away to see if different colors have different tastes.
