Downton Abbey

My favorite scene in the whole movie, apart from the last chat between the old lady and Mary, is the scene where Tom and Lucy dance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. One is the nobleman's commoner son-in-law, and the other is the noble's illegitimate daughter who is serving as a maid. Both are people in the gap between commoners and nobles. Tom can continue to stay indoors and sing and dance with the group of dignitaries, but he I chose to go to the terrace outside the palace - a place that is neither a commoner, but strictly speaking is not a world of nobility. I think this place is brilliantly chosen. In the end, Tom did not force himself to blend into the splendid indoor world, but he understood that within a short distance, he would seek common ground with his relatives while reserving differences.
