At the moment of watching the film, I was actually a little confused. What did the film want to say? Is it about pain? Talking about the mother-daughter relationship? Talk about an intergenerational power struggle? Speaking of marriage? Is forgiveness the antidote to letting go of yourself?
The first feeling is that it takes a few steps to get out of the pain, haha, just kidding. The film not only talks about getting out of the pain that others cannot replace, but also talks about the intergenerational war between mother and daughter.
The joys and sorrows of human beings cannot be shared, and human beings cannot understand each other. Faced with the loss of a child, are men sad? Sure, but maybe because they didn't get pregnant for October, they came out with ease. For women, it is more difficult. Everyone around you has to encourage you to come out again and again. In fact, they are tearing her wounds over and over again. Everyone is willing to give space and time for you to calmly repair the wound.
What does the loss of a child mean to a woman? Facing the question of the defendant's lawyer, why was she so confused? Why did she wake up instantly when she saw the developed photo? Why did she forgive the midwife? Whose problem is this tragedy? There are factors that she insisted on choosing to give birth at home, the midwives said that she wanted to go to the hospital, she still chose to give birth with all her strength, there were factors that the midwives did not find blood in the bathtub, and the midwives did not closely observe the baby after she came out. There are factors that the midwives clearly know that the fetal heart rhythm problem still encourages the forced labor of the mother. It's so complicated, and life goes by so quickly. I think the guilt in the heroine's heart also forgave herself the moment she forgave the midwife. What she lost can't be returned, and it is actually a sin to blame others. It's better to let others and herself.
And the struggle between mother and daughter, where the mother buried her daughter's marriage with money, was a victory, cruelty and compassion. Victory in Jiang is still old and hot, ruthlessness is in forcibly interfering with her daughter's life, compassion is in the marriage that can be solved with money, and getting rid of the marriage as soon as possible is not as long as short-term pain. In the end, with old age, my daughter will eventually win over her mother. When I was a child, you used force to tell me what I liked, then when I got old, I could use arrogance to tell you what I liked. The daughter uses her age to win the final victory, which is sad and terrible. It is sad that the generations are so reincarnated that the third-generation daughter who climbs the tree and picks apples will eventually be the protagonist of the next battle. The scary thing is that you end up being the one you hate. It's so scary. It looks like you win, but you actually lose your bottoms.
Love and marriage are perhaps only the most minor manifestations of this film, the thoughtfulness before childbirth is real, and the love is real. But in the end, the trauma seems to be mutual, but it is actually personal. You can't understand my pain, and I can't understand your understanding of me.
It's a very sad movie. Maybe the movie doesn't tell you exactly what it's about, but it simply shows the appearance of all beings. In the end, it makes you feel empty after watching it.
Pain can be healed, but mutual understanding between people is difficult to exist.
