Rapists don't need light

The movie is known for its incestuous love and its opening. Lolita, the fire of my lust, the light of life. It was difficult for me to understand at the time. After watching the movie, I just deeply felt the sadness of Hamburg - the clown was by my side. He is a sober and reasonable person, but also a cruel and indifferent person. He treats others, even his wife, who has passed by, is indifferent, and even ridicules everywhere in his heart. But he was still a polite gentleman on the surface. He didn't even show the slightest grief when his wife died. The saddest thing about him is that he is only interested in young girls, his uncontrollable possessiveness. He finally had to wave his hand at Lolita for mercy. His love burned himself. Is the movie beautiful? nice. Chillingly beautiful. The entire film is written from Hamburger's point of view. In fact, take a good look at this love, but it is just a rapist's self-justification. A beast that cannot hold itself to basic morality does not deserve to have light.

Lolita quotes

  • Charlotte Haze: There's a nice view from this window... of the front lawn.

  • Charlotte Haze: Is, um, Madame Humbert, um...

Humbert Humbert: There's no "Madame". We are divorced...

    Charlotte Haze: Oh...

    Humbert Humbert: *Happily* divorced.

Charlotte Haze: When did all this happen?

Humbert Humbert: About a year ago - in Paris.

Charlotte Haze: Oh, Paris, France, madame... You know, monsieur, I really believe that it's only in the Romance Languages that one is able to really relate in a mature fashion. In fact I remember when the late Mr. Haze and I... when we were on our honeymoon abroad, I knew that I'd never felt married until I'd heard myself addressed as "Senora".

Humbert Humbert: So you were in Spain?

    Charlotte Haze: No, Mexico!

    Humbert Humbert: Oh, Mexico, mm-hmm!
