I saw a lot of comments comparing Victory with American science fiction, but I don’t think it is necessary. After all, the development of the two countries in this field is completely different. American science fiction has been engaged in science fiction for decades, and this is the first in South Korea.
Due to the epidemic situation, Victory was not shown in the cinema, and the special effects could not be 100% displayed. This is a disadvantage, but objectively speaking, it has done well, and the technical level has been displayed to a certain extent. For this cost, I am generally satisfied with the details and texture. The cost of American blockbusters generally exceeds 5-10 times, and it is also ridiculous to compare the standard.
The story is a typical Korean tradition, and the style of American sci-fi is also very different. I have watched too much American sci-fi, and I may not have a high degree of acceptance of the style of Korean movies. They have both advantages and disadvantages, but the overall progress is relatively clear. The chattering robot contracted the jokes (must see the end), and the fighting scenes at the end were spectacular. Compared with the picture, the movie has a deeper impression on the setting of the future world. In addition to the basic functionality, it divides human beings into levels. It is very ironic that the future world will also be a world of rich people. It seems that there is nothing wrong with it. Environmental protection, new technology, and finding livable places outside the earth, all kinds of concepts are more naturally integrated. As a commercial film without thriller, violence and other exciting elements, the story is not unconventional, so it would be better if the tension can be strengthened.
American science fiction movies have monopolized the past few decades. It is a courageous move for South Korea to make this movie. I believe that the experience in the cinema will be greatly improved. One more star will be given as encouragement, and I hope future movies will be more diverse. Since the epidemic, the global film industry has been in difficulties, and we hope to recover as soon as possible.
