In fact, I watched Teacher Liu Yu's introduction in "Details of Democracy", another film about the Nixon Watergate incident, but this one focuses on Nixon, who was forced to step down and was infamous.
The film is based on real events: Frost, a host in the entertainment industry, spent a lot of money to go to California to ask him to do a talk show with himself after Nixon stepped down. The conversation between the two was like a competition, Frost wanted Nixon to embarrass him in front of the TV, and all Americans felt that Nixon owed them an apology, but Nixon insisted on defending himself, believing that his political merits outweighed his sins. He refused to admit his fault in the fierce nationwide condemnation.
The narrative of this film is very exciting. It is not difficult to see that the style of classic Hollywood still emphasizes characters, dialogue and narrative. The cadence and emotional lines of the actors really need to be placed in the English context. At least I have a hard time imagining what such a powerful inner drama would look like in a Chinese plot.
This is probably the Western drama tradition.
