Story is a wonderful subject. From simply helping a roommate to have an abortion, to reluctant dedication to this end, to listening to meaningless conversations in a restless trance, to heart breaking conversations with boyfriends, to panic and helplessness when seeing the body of an aborted baby . Although the story is only told in a short day, the emotional tension is full.
Another great feature of the film is the use of long shots. People often mistakenly think that they are sitting in the room looking at the ugly face of the unscrupulous doctor who takes advantage of others' danger, and the panicked mood of the heroine eager to abandon the baby on the dim street, all of which reflect the wonderfulness of long shots.
I have to mention the heroine Anamaria Marinca. Absolutely quiet performance. It made me feel immersed more than once. Step by step with her into a deeper whirlpool. It was squeezed and twisted and deformed by the pressure on the face, through the long dark tunnel, until it came out from the small luminous tube. As relieved.
