Some personal thoughts on the French-German version of Beauty and the Beast

1. Lens. The beginning of the game is about half an hour (about the process of Belle's father entering the castle by mistake on his way home). I really can't bear to complain about that shot, it's almost black all the time. I turned on the computer's brightness to the maximum, but it was still so dark that I couldn't see anything. I could only see a few figures, which made me feel very uncomfortable. It wasn't until Belle went to the castle for his father to see the castle that I felt better. The scenery and brightness are beginning to be beautiful. Every time the camera turns black, I can't see anything clearly, and the black scenes account for a large proportion of the entire film. 2. Why did the deer-turned woman who was shot by the prince entrust her dream to Belle? Then Belle had a large part of her dream related to the prince's previous experience. But what does this have to do with Belle? 3. The American version is that the witch punishes the prince for not loving him, so he turns him into a beast. The French version is that the god of the deep forest shot the deer (supposedly the daughter of the forest god) to punish the king and turned him into a beast. But when the deer turned into a human shape, the king let the deer go, and the king agreed, but in the end he shot it to death. So I don't know whether to punish the king for shooting a deer, or punish the king for not keeping his promise. Personally, I feel that the plot of this movie is still very general, especially in the form of storytelling to start the whole movie, there is nothing special. Still not satisfied.

Beauty and the Beast quotes

  • Belle: God of the forest. Let me go back to him. It is my only wish. My only desire.

  • [the Beast Catches The Merchant Taking a Rose]

The Beast: My gifts were not enough for you? Do you also have to steal what I treasure most?

The Merchant: I won't be treated as a thief or a coward. I am a just and honorable man!

The Beast: Who did you pick this rose for?

The Merchant: My youngest daughter. She is worth more than anything in the world, to me.

The Beast: Then I will give you one day to say goodbye to your loved ones. You only need to whisper the words: "More than anything in the world," to your horse, and he will bring you here.

The Merchant: I will not return!

The Beast: Oh, yes you will. Otherwise, I will kill your entire family, one by one. I will kill your youngest daughter last, since she's your favorite. Remember... A life for a rose.
