"The Tightrope Walker" - a crazy hymn

"What's the craziest thing you've ever fantasized about?"

There are some things that are beyond imagination, things that ordinary people can't even think about. These things belong to the hero, they are beyond imagination.

For Philip, walking a tightrope is his destiny, you can hardly imagine such a person doing other things, it would be very ridiculous. Walking a tightrope is his calling.

For Philip, things are very simple: since no one stipulates that you can't build a tightrope between the twin towers of the World Trade Center and walk over it, why not?

When we hear Philip describe this crazy plan, we have no doubt that he will succeed. He was born to walk a tightrope. If he can't make it, who can?

Reason tells us that this is downright insane, and no one with a brain would do it. If we were to come up with a well-thought-out plan for this ambitious goal, we could come up with a whole host of reasons to convince ourselves that it was impossible.

This is why humans need more than reason, courage is as important as madness. Faced with enormous difficulties, rational people will evaluate all possible outcomes, and eventually cringe, giving up before they even begin.

But Philip is a hero. When he had set his goals, any difficulties seemed insignificant.

As long as you see his tightrope walk, the focus, courage, persistence, and of course the essential madness, you'll understand that he can't fail.

When I saw that Philip was really dancing on the steel wire of the twin towers of the World Trade Center, I was suddenly moved: someone can ignore the rules of the real world! He surpasses human imagination, he shows people the limits of human beings, and proves why human beings are great! This is a glorious moment for human beings!

After a successful performance, Philip received my tears and flowers and praise from all over the world. Meanwhile, everything has changed. Fame and honor hit him like snowflakes, and without realizing it, a tragedy occurred. The former friendship and love have all become light after the success of this ambitious plan, as the film says: Philip's life has started anew.

The film comes to an abrupt end here, the miracle that belongs to Philip has become a fact, and no matter what his life will be after, it is no longer important. The important thing is that from time to time we remember that there was once a man who put a steel wire on the twin towers of the World Trade Center and danced on it. When people saw his performance, they were stunned and said, " This man is a lunatic ."

Man on Wire quotes

  • Philippe Petit: If I die, what a beautiful death!

  • Philippe Petit: Life should be lived on the edge of life. You have to exercise rebellion: to refuse to tape yourself to rules, to refuse your own success, to refuse to repeat yourself, to see every day, every year, every idea as a true challenge - and then you are going to live your life on a tightrope.
