British Hierarchy Thought by BJ's Diary of a Single

In BJ's Singles Diary 2, Darcy tells BJ that he wants his kids to go to EATEN instead of going to the school where the guys who sing about yellow submarines go. EATEN, translated as Eton College, is a private high school with a long history. It is the place where the British aristocrats studied in the early days, so its education quality is the best, but the price is also surprisingly expensive, and it is called a noble school. And "Yellow Submarine" is a Beatles record. The members of the Beatles were all working class. In particular, its core character, Lennon, was born in the British port city of Liverpool. He lost his father since childhood and was raised by his aunt. When he was a teenager, his mother died in a car accident. Although the Pioneers have always had the image of polite English gentlemen on stage, they actually represented the working class of humble origins. This is really ironic.

In fact, the United Kingdom has a strict hierarchical system, and this system has continued to this day. This hierarchy is deeply embedded in people's minds, and it is also reflected in various British-made films, music, and books.

  • Bridget Jones: [diary] Have never been happier in entire life. However, must not obsess or fantasize.

Bridget Jones: Bridget Darcy; Mrs. Darcy; Mr. and Mrs. Darcy; Lord and Lady Darcy!

  • Bridget Jones: [diary] Wonder what Mark Darcy would be like as a father. Father to his children I mean, not to me. That would be weird Oedipus-like thought.
