Elegant composition, impressive light and shadow effects, soothing rhythm, and melodious soundtrack make this film holy and captivating.
The film is based on the beehive. The pattern on the window is a perfect regular hexagon. When the sun shines on the glass, it adds a honeycomb-like golden sheen to the picture.
Fires, reflections in the lake, the night sky, the reflections of sunlight and moonlight through the leaves, the unpredictable light and shadow have a slightly surreal quality. Fascinating chiaroscuro, carefully placed scenes, make the film poetic and almost certainly metaphorical.
It is very rare that the film is mainly based on Anna's point of view. Throughout the film, we were able to immerse ourselves in Anna's world, to see how she was attracted to Frankenstein and how her sister inspired her imagination so much that she really believed in the existence of Frankenstein.
Even without trying to understand the film's political metaphor, it's still a very beautiful film.
